Food scene
Oh boy, Lancaster is a killer food scene. Living here has spoiled us! I've got more recommendations in the binder inside the apartment.
Delicious cocktails and food, hidden in the back of an old neighborhood on the outskirts of the city. Back in the day this was an old speakeasy built into the hayloft of an hold horse barn. It is very popular. It's on the other side of the city, probably a 30 min walk.

This is our favorite place to get breakfast, it's just so comfortable and tasty. Quality ingredients in a vibe that that still feels like an old school arts town hangout.

This place is in an old historic tobacco warehouse, hidden in an alley, so it feels like a secret spot. Craft cocktails in the tasting room, tours on the weekends. It's about 3 blocks from the door.

Its kind of a hipster breakfast place, with pork belly breakfast tacos and avocado toast. You might want to make fun of people who spend $10 on avocado toast, but those people are experiencing some amazing flavors if they are eating at the Bread Pedaler.

They have a roof top that features several "food trucks". If the weather is nice, it's a golden spot. It's also a great spot to catch some night life. It gets VERY busy on the weekends.

Grab some banh mi, or some pho, it's really good. The family that runs this place had the best Vietnamese restaurant in New Orleans before they got displaced by hurricane Katrina. They landed in Lancaster, never looked back, and we are grateful they like it here.

Sightseeing
We listed this as sightseeing, but it's actually food scene. It's a long running historic farmers market that is open 3 days a week year round. A lot of markets like this around the country have turned into gimmicky tourist traps, but we actually do a lot of our grocery shopping here, and we love it!

This is the estate of President James Buchanan, famously esteemed as the worst president in history for not preventing the civil war. His estate is fascinating and the history museum is interesting as well! Definitely take the tour.

Public transportation is worthless. Rent a bike or walk.
Grab a rideshare, walk, or rent a bicycle from the rack up by central market. If you head out to the county you'll probably want your own car, but if you are staying in the city, keep it parked.
