Beaches
Our personal favorite, but it’s probably best to avoid it on the weekends unless you get there very early. You can pay to park during the week (the parking lots usually fill up pretty early), or park for free along the sea wall near the beach. You also have to pay to get on the beach, but it’s a beautiful spot.

Narragansett Beach

The beach closest to the house and is about a 10-15 minute walk down Knowlesway. No cost to walk on and can get a bit crowded on the weekends. It’s gorgeous early in the morning. There are also grills on the grassy area of the beach that are first come first serve.

Scarborough State Beach
Ocean RdThe beach closest to the house and is about a 10-15 minute walk down Knowlesway. No cost to walk on and can get a bit crowded on the weekends. It’s gorgeous early in the morning. There are also grills on the grassy area of the beach that are first come first serve.
A bit of a hidden gem, although it gets more popular every year. There are no lifeguards or concessions. It’s a popular beach with fishermen and a great spot to bring a bottle of wine and watch the sunset. There is no charge to park or walk onto this beach.

Down in Galilee there are two state beaches - the other is Salty Brine. Both very protected and calm. Popular with families and great for young kids.

it’s about a 25 minute drive from the house but it’s an absolutely gorgeous beach - super wide and goes on for miles. You have to pay for parking, and the lot is small, but the parking lot connects the beach and Ninigret pond, a beautiful nature preserve.
