By separating from the former Istrian mainland, the Brijuni Islands were formed. Nowhere so many holm oaks and laurels in one place and shade under the canopy of trees about twenty meters wide. Brijuni is a beautiful image of nature cultivated by man for his most pleasant stay in the splendor of greenery, landscaped to the utmost gentleness and the smell and proximity of the sea.
Footprints of dinosaurs and Mesozoic reptiles can be seen on the island stone, so this site is paleontologically particularly interesting. The collections kept by the Brijuni museums open pages of archeological and cultural-historical curiosities, and there are also copies of frescoes and Glagolitic inscriptions.
Veliki Brijun boasts of landscape parks and lawns, and the promenades are long and very attractive, the tree-lined avenues are impressive in their harmony, as well as the open landscape-park areas.
