Favourite Bites in Miami

If there is one breakfast/lunch/coffee spot that I find myself returning to weekly in Miami, it's Under the Mango Tree. Patty, the owner, has put so much love into this cafe, that you feel it in the space and taste it in the food. Smoothies, sandwiches, salads, baked goodies...anything your heart desires for a fresh & nourishing fix. My go to: Superfood açai bowl topped with almond butter. & the superfood frap blended with ice.... made with "Damn fine Indian coffee" from Ministry of Kaapi.

Find the exclamation mark and follow it! ! ! And yes, you should be excited! Because this place is a total hidden gem in a strip mall. It's hard to explain how the chefs took Italian cuisine, added plenty of whimsy, and still managed to deliver exactly what you expect from an Italian restaurant: simple ingredients turned into delightful dishes. So, all I can say is... !!!! PS. don't skip the chopped salad.

There is one word that keep circling around in my mind when I try to describe this place, and its: cozy. Even the plates feel like a warm hug. Maybe because this little Italian restaurant is family owned and run where you will always be greeted by Gabriel & Gabriela the chefs, or their daughter Camila. I often find myself choosing to dine at Luna during the week because of the home-y pasta plates and warm service I receive...without fail, every single time. Thank you, Luna!

Coffee spot & more

This is my go to spot to get some work done...because I get to enjoy delicious coffee from Honduras, banana bread, and plenty of nature. Located in Upper Buena Vista, there is plenty to see and enjoy as well...

Food scene

Leku Restaurant is serving Spanish cuisine steps away from the Rubell Museum... As you might expect, Leku's interior and plates definitely compliment the contemporary art collection that can be found in the museum. The food is delicious...and the space is beautifully designed, with high ceilings and a window wall that leads the way to the outdoor patio seating. The garden...the breeze...its magical. It's the perfect lunch spot post Rubell Museum visit, or just for a quick coffee paired with the best Basque cheesecake I have had the pleasure to taste....

Sunrise @ South Beach

One of my all time favourite things to do in Miami, is watch the sunrise at this particular spot. On some days, I meditate and then practice yoga. On other days, when I have plenty of energy and time...I bike. I bike along the promenade from the south point all the way to North Beach and then back to 5th street, straight to Under the Mango Tree for a nourishing and refreshing meal. If you don't have a bike, rent a Citi Bike. It's totally worth it.
