Playa Avellanas (30 minutes)
Great setting under the palms right at the beach in Avellanas. Great for a beer and a sandwich at the beach for lunch time, hammacks and lounge chairs will make you want to stay there forever. Drive towards Huacas, where you will take a right and follow signs to Tamarindo. At Villareal, do not make any turns and follow the signs for Pinilla. Continue beyond Hacienda Pinilla’s front gate and Avellanas will be the next beach you run into on your right hand, and you will not miss Lola’s. Ph. 2652-9097

As you reach the Hotel Las Tortugas (in Playa Grande), make a right turn and follow the dirt road until it streches out into a narrow pathway, you’ll find a clear space between the trees to park your car (at the end of the road). This is a great spot if you want to do a pic-nic, swim or just enjoy a white sand beach with very few visitors

Very special and one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, it’s unique feature: white shells instead of sand!

Great place to spend the entire day within the Las Catalinas community, the restaurant and beach are open to the general public and it is a great place to rent a kayak or a paddle board

This is where everybody goes. Excellent conditions to learn to surf. Nice to stroll at sunset or during low tie. All sort of facilities are available and everything is within walking distance. There are two convenient parking lots right next to the beach.
