Get on the Hop-on Hop-off Bus!
This bus leaves just a 10 minute walk from my door to do the ‘Constantia Valley Wine Tour’... from there you can link in at the Terminus at the top of the Road (Constantia Nek) and do the whole Cape Peninsula tour!! Its a GAS!! I did it with my kids and I even live here!!!! If you are really clever, and have short time, buy the 2 or 3 day ticket which literally takes you everywhere you want to see!! And the even have headphones! Try it!! The Bus will take you to (amongst others) the World of Birds in Hout Bay - which is truly wonderful for the kids.... it will take you to the Waterfront!!

Long Street
Despite Long Street being the ‘hub’ of nightlife in downtown Cape Town on a weekend, you need to be VERY AWARE of the following. You are Tourists. They are looking out for you. There are pickpockets at ever turn. DO NOT get your mobile phone out whilst in the road, and keep all wallets and money very close to your person. Long Street is not like this in the day, its only at night. Personally I would avoid it like the Plague

I wouldnt bother packing much if you are from Europe.
Depending on season you will need Hiking boots if you want to walk a long way, or well worn-in summer sandals for summertime. Dont bother with sunblock and all that heavy stuff! You can buy it here and its not expensive. Disposable Nappies are also less expensive here than in the UK. As are Cigarettes. They cost roughly £2.50 per pack here. So dont bother buying duty free. Same goes for booze. Out Scotch on the shelves here is actually less expensive than at Heathrow Duty Free! So Breathe... look forward... and relax....

Having fun in Khayelitsha!
You cant go into Khayelitsha alone. You must go in a tour. The thing to do is to go there and go on the Food Fest of your Life (assuming you are not Vegetarian)! Ask your tour guide take you out for an afternoon with the locals at Emcimbini Braai Place!! You will never be the same again!

Book before you arrive!! This is a ‘Not to Be Missed Experience’!!! Like Tea at the Ritz only better, and you dont feel as if you afe being put through a Sausage Factory due to your time slot. Long and leisurely is the key here.... have tea ONCE here, and you will come back again and again!

Miss the rush and the HUGE queues And Book Online!! Its really easy, and you get to walk straight to the front of hot, sweaty queue!!!
