Food & Drink

Gem of a little café, (inside Christ Church, now the Art gallery) freshly made tasty food and the best latte I have tasted. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and the meals are very reasonably priced. There's usually some sort of exhibition displayed which is another reason to visit.

Great little find. Usually a selection of craft beers and cider on offer, plus cheese boards or meat selection with some splendid pies and delicious scotch eggs. Plus, if you like to play board games or cards, plenty of opportunity.

Sightseeing

Hartlepool Headland is the most southerly point of the Heritage Coast. This fascinating stretch of the coast demonstrates Hartlepool’s military defences; in fact there have been gun based defences here from the late 16th century. In December 1914 it became the first place on mainland Britain to be bombed by the Germans with over 100 people losing their lives in the attack.

Seaton Carew is a seaside resort in County Durham, North East England, with a population of 6,018. It is on the North Sea coast on the edge of Hartlepool and the mouth of the River Tees. n winter the vast expanse of sand revealed at low tide is popular with walkers and anyone wanting to blow away the cobwebs in the bracing North Sea winds. Whatever the season this is a great location for golfers with Seaton Carew Golf Links situated just behind the beach.
