Gringo has some pretty decent tacos by NC standards and really good chips & guac. Questionable taste in interior decorating, but is still a nice spot for lunch and dinner. The $2.50 condiment tray is a veteran move for some nice additions to your tacos.

Well maintained park with plenty of recreational areas (basketball, baseball field). Grass hill is very nice for relaxing and close to downtown.
