The Mansfield Wetlands provide a habitat for native fauna and are a beautiful and accessible example of a living wetlands ecosystem.
The Great Victorian Rail Trail passes through the Mansfield Mullum Wetlands. Walk or cycle along the trail or do the circuit. A full circuit of the Mansfield Wetlands is approximately one and a half kilometres, so allow 45 minutes.
Seating and a bird hide is available along the route.
Developed and maintained by volunteers the wetlands also contribute to water quality improvements in local catchments.

The Rifle Butts Mountain Bike Park is located at Loyola G50 Bushland Reserve, only a few kolometres from Mansfield. Even though the reserve, which measures 550m x 420m, is small there are about 8 kilometres of trails. The trails are built and maintained by the the Mansfield Mt Buller Cycling Club.

The picturesque reserve is on the banks of the Delatite River and is perfect for picnicing and enjoying the outdoors. It is also the start of the Plain Creek Loop walking track and camping facilities are located in the adjacent camping area.
Activities including fly fishing, bushwalking, picnicking, horseriding and trailbike riding are all popular in this area of State Forest.
Popular walks include Plain Creek Loop Walk, Tramway Bridge Walk, Plain Creek Waterfall and Tomahawk Hut.
