It is surprising the number of bars and restaurants open in the square and its surroundings that, every day, at all times of the year, attract large numbers of locals and tourists. Some take a long time and others are renewed with some frequency. So don't be surprised if you come back in a few months and find a bar where there used to be another. But always bars. The last time we visited, there were these: Zahara de Osborne Restaurant, at number 1 Tavern inn Viña P, at 3 O Cacho do Jose Restaurant, at 5 Il Pezzo de Guiseppe Restaurant, at 5 Tavern La Vinoteca, next to the Spanish Theater Miss Sushi restaurant on the corner of Prado street Coffee and Tapas, at 6 Cervecería Alemana, at 6 (the most traditional, since 1904) Santa Caña Brewery, at 7 La ChulAna, at 8 Naturbier, at 9 (known for brewing its own beer using natural methods) Santa Ana Brewery, at 10 The 10 tapas of Santa Ana, in the 11 Lateral Restaurant, at 12 Hawaiian Bar, at 13 Ana la Santa Restaurant, on the premises of the ME Reina Victoria hotel At number 15 of the square there is the Villa-Rosa, a flamenco tablao born in 1911 that offers shows and gastronomy every day of the week.

It is a delicatessen market / restaurant area, where you can choose from a range of small gourmet restaurants, order your food and drinks and bring it out to the terrace. Great views of the Capitol Building and the main shopping street Gran Via. And… DON’T MISS this one: * ROOFTOP RIU HOTEL located at PLAZA DE ESPAÑA. AMAZING VIEWS At PLAZA MAYOR there is TOURIST INFORMATION OFFICE. There is another one at CALLAO sq. These are just a few things. If you need more specific info on something, let me know. Hope this will help you to discover Madrid. Any questions, let me know. Kind regards, Javier
