Sharon Springs today is a quaint cozy village of shops and restaurants and park benches throughout. There's a historic self-guided walking tour (plaques along the streets) detailing the historic properties in their heyday when the mineral springs were active with spa treatments and baths. Many old hotels and boarding houses still stand, although vacant. The sparsely populated wide streets with old growth trees and overgrown lawns lend themselves to an abundance of wildlife -- deer, turkey vultures, crows, woodpeckers, rabbits, woodchucks, song birds, owls, coyotes -- can be seen and heard!
