Frontier Texas is an interesting museum experience and gives you a great perspective of the history and culture of Abilene and the area. Highly recommend this. Takes about 60 minutes. When you finish, go across the street to The Porch for a drink or treat.

This is a nice state park to get out in nature. Short nature trail that is fun to walk or mountain bike. Mornings are best. Reasonable entry fee. There is a park pool that is sometimes open. Also volleyball court. Another place to go for a nature walk or bike is at the Abilene State Park Lake. They have kayaks to rent there at a self-serve kiosk.

Everyone in Big Country is very friendly! Feel free to smile and wave, because people will do that to you. No need to rush, no need to honk. Drivers are very courteous too. I love living here because of how friendly everyone is.
