We are located about 25 minutes from the Texas Renaissance Festival. The Texas Renaissance Festival is an annual Renaissance fair located in Todd Mission, Texas, about 55 miles northwest of Houston. The Texas Renaissance Festival started in 1974 on the location of an old strip mining site. The festival claims to be "the nation’s largest Renaissance theme park. The festival takes place in October and November each year.

The entire town and surrounding areas has been recognized as the Anderson Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1974. The area was originally settled during Spanish colonial rule. The town is unusual in that a large number of structures have survived that reflect the history of Texas from the Mexican period through the years of the Republic of Texas and into early statehood. Anderson has never fully recovered from the economic decline suffered during the late nineteenth century. As a result, the town's appearance has been largely unchanged since the beginning of the twentieth century. Anderson is a small little town with a population of around 250 in the town proper. Our property is located between Anderson, TX and Plantersville, TX on State Highway 1774. It is about 9 miles to either town. Our property is located down a paved county road and is on farmland.

Montgomery, TX is located about 15 miles from our property. As one of the oldest towns in Texas, Montgomery began as a trading post in 1826 and was charted in 1837. Montgomery was the first county seat of Montgomery County and was the third county formed under the Republic of Texas. It is also recognized as the birthplace of the Texas Lone Star Flag. Montgomery is located at the junction of Texas 105 and FM 149, near the southwestern edge of Sam Houston National Forest in western Montgomery County. The center of town is 15 miles west of Conroe and 50 miles northwest of Houston. Montgomery offers guests a memorable visit with its charming Historic Downtown District, as well as its many fine retail shops, restaurants and local attractions. There is a large Kroger Grocery Store if you are looking to stock up on groceries. It is approximately 30 minutes from our location.

We are 9 miles from the nearest town in a rural area.

We are located halfway between Anderson, TX, and Plantersville, TX off State Highway 1774. You will go down a paved county road to get to our property. We are about 15 minutes to Anderson, TX where you will find a Dollar General Store which has a selection of groceries and other items that you might need during your stay. The guesthouse is on our little 5-acre chicken farm. Our property is very peaceful. You can enjoy great sunsets and sunrises on the porch. The stars are beautiful and the view is even better sitting in the hot tub.
