Wellness

Wellness retreat in Tulum, a 10 minute walk or 3 minute bike ride from the House. Holistika is a magical destination tucked into the heart of the verdant jungle. One of the few options that’s not located on the beach itself, Holistika is certainly a unique yoga and wellness center that will leave you feeling both charmed and restored. At this tucked-away refuge you’ll find morning sun worships, afternoon meditation sessions, or just go for breakfast, lunch or a smoothie. Look for the chalkboard as you going in, and choose from the calendar of activities available during the day and week. Book a massage, or one of the rituals, or sound healing sessions! You can reserve a class on the spot, via phone/WhatsApp.

One of our favorite bakeries anywhere, and it's so close to the house. Whether you are looking for a good croissant, good espresso, or sitting down for breakfast, Italdo is a great option. Just be patient as is small and seating capacity is limited.

If you want to eat authentic Mexican tacos, Taqueria Honorios is a must spot in Tulum town. Just go before 12pm on busy weekends as the tacos go fast! You cannot go without tasting their "cochinita, lechon, or the relleno negro" tacos

Tatewari is in Delek Hotel and Beach Club. It is one of my favorite spots in Tulum! NO cover charge and NO minimum consumption! and you can sit and enjoy the beach in their loungers or puffs. Great service, excellent cocktails, great food, and great low-key vibes. No loud banging music here :) We park right in front. Paid parking.

Nomade is near the end of the beach to the left. While it is a Hotel, you can access their beach club (with cover or min consumption), but going around 5pm for drinks is the best! Also try La Popular, their beach restaurant. Eat the freshest grilled fish with an amazing view.

Sightseeing

Azulik has a space/experience for the public both in its Hotel on the Beach or in UhMay village some 40min from Tulum. The beach space has a $200 ($10usd) per person fee and in my opinion is totally worth it. If you are into design, architecture, art, or just want to feel inspired…absolutely go!

Playa Paraiso is a public beach and one of the most beautiful beaches in Tulum. You can rent loungers and umbrellas for reasonable price, but more importantly you can take advantage of the authorized tour operators to see the ruins from the sea and snorkeling in one of the most impressive coral reefs.

Take a day trip to Coba’s ancient ruins. The entry fee is only 50 pesos, and there are plenty of guides if you wish to hire one for the walk. The ruins are massive, and quite far from the entrance. I recommend renting a car for this trip

If you are staying beyond 7 days I would definitely advise a 1-2 day trip to Sian Ka'an biosphere and Punta Allen. You can do a tour via any of the tour companies in town, or beach, or Viator. You can make the scenic drive to Punta Allen, but suggest you stay at least a night and make sure you rent an SUV or Jeep. Brutal in a small car due to roads.

City/town information

Valladolid is a beautiful quaint Spanish colonial town in Yucatan. It makes for a great day trip and you can also visit Suytun cenote and Coba on the way. One hour and 1/2 drive from the house. Make sure to visit Coqui Coqui Perfumeria, even just for pictures.
