John Muir called this meadow the "Gem of the Sierra". Experience its stunning wildflower display within the towering sequoias, and you will know why! There's abundant wildlife feasting in the meadow. Enjoy an hour or so walking around the meadow, or take the lesser travelled trail system all the way to the General Sherman tree, the largest tree in the world. In the summer, there is a shuttle that can take you back to your car. A Giant Forest Trail map, lunch, and extra water is recommended for this walk.
