You are visiting the great city of Gilbert, AZ, one of the best parts of the "Valley of the Sun." We are loaded with lots and Midwesterners, Californians, Canadians and people from other parts of the U.S. that have COLD winters. So, please enjoy our lovely weather while you're here.
The heritage neighborhood of Gilbert is loaded with many restaurants for your eating pleasure. If you go back out to the entrance on Elliott Rd., turn RIGHT (east) and go less than a mile to Cooper Rd., then turn LEFT (north) and after a mile or more, you will begin to see franchises like Golden Corral, Chick-fil-A, In-N-Out Burger and Texas Roadhouse that actually have a Mesa address, but we still allow ourselves to eat there! Another popular spot where there are many more restaurants is (a mile EAST of Cooper Rd.) on Gilbert Rd. (in the Heritage District of old Gilbert) just 1 mile east of Cooper. We even have some interesting places to eat west of the light where you turned in off of Elliott. Eateries out of the ordinary can be found at Best Places to Eat in Downtown and Around Town - Discover Gilbert
We are close to a phenomenal park that is a great place for kids and adults. It includes a great playground, some carnival rides, a train that encircles the park and walking trails. Freestone Park is East (2-1/2 miles) to Lindsay Rd. then North about 1/2 mile on the right. No entrance or parking fee! Also, check out the wonderful arboretums and museums in the area.
