Sightseeing
Kennebec lake has a lot of history and a lot to see. Formerly Cross lake, Kennebec has one of the fewest cottage density ratios in the area. There is a healthy presence of Loons, Blue Herons, Otters and other wildlife that contribute to the lake’s ecosystem.
The central part of the lake, just west of Blueberry Island is where Crown Land begins to flank the lake. A bay to the south where our cottages are located is where you will find several coves and the mouth of the Salmon river.
I highly recommend taking the Kayaks we provide and exploring the lake. You just might see something out of the ordinary.

Really nice community hiking trails close to the entrance of our cottage road. You can access the parking area on Hwy 7 just east of Henderson Rd or east on Nordic Rd from Henderson Rd.
It’s great for families, so bring your little ones!

Things To Do
Springwood Cottage Resort is located at the entrance to our cottage road. They have a full service marina and rent several types of boats. They also have a fully equipped convenience store that even carries live bait! I highly recommend paying them a visit.

Food scene
There is local shopping and a farmers market on Saturdays. The Crossings Pub is a great place to get decent food and craft beers on tap.

Grocery Store
I would definitely buy the food for your stay before you come. You will pay more and have less selection out here. Mike Deans in Sharbot Lake (not recommended) would be my last resort before just driving to Perth or Napanee for groceries.

Gas station
If you need to get gas and you are coming from or heading to the west from the cottage this would be the closest. They have a small LCBO outlet.
Their prices are high so if you are not in a hurry I would suggest going to Sharbot Lake. They have better gas prices and an actual LCBO and Beer store.
Shell
10201 Hwy 41Waste Site
This is where you have to take your waste and recycling if you choose not to take it home with you. They are only open Wednesday-Sunday normal business hours.
Take the time to look up the rules for waste disposal online (https://www.centralfrontenac.com/en/living-here/garbage-and-recycling.aspx#). I can tell you that it is taken very seriously here. You have to use the township bags that we provide you with and properly separate your recycling.
Every municipality seems to have there own list of recyclable items and Central Frontenac is no different. You have to separate glass, paper (includes non corrugated cardboard) and corrugated cardboard. Hard plastics and aluminum cans can be together but that’s it. The rest is unfortunately all trash.
