On the inner walls are several coats-of-arms of different Motovun ruling families and two gravestones of Roman inhabitants (dating from the 1st century). Beside the long history Motovun offers some fascinating views of inner Istria combined with an exquisit choice of restaurants.

Along the coast of western Istria, there are several groups of islands among which the most interesting, the largest and the most indented is the Brijuni group of 14 islands and islets.  The cultural and historical heritage is represented by archaeological sites dating even from the Bronze Age, permanent and temporary exhibitions and a rich museum collection. The tumultuous history has left many traces in Brijuni  which bring us back to some past times.

Rovinj is a Croatian fishing port on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula. The old town stands on a headland, with houses tightly crowded down to the seafront. A tangle of cobbled streets leads to the hilltop church of St. Euphemia, whose towering steeple dominates the skyline. South of the old town is Lone Bay, one of the area’s pebble beaches. The Rovinj archipelago’s 14 islands lie immediately off the mainland.
