Le Guide ai Quartieri
Personally, Brera is my favourite neighbourhood in the city. Historically regarded as the artists' quarter, nowadays you can get lost along its magical pedestrian-only cobblestone streets, relax with a refreshing Spritz in the terrace of some old-fashioned bar and, last but not least, visit the Pinacoteca di Brera- both a famous museum and an art school.

The Darsena - Navigli area is great for families and couples but also for all those who want to enjoy a good night out. In fact, along the Naviglio Grande river, you will find restaurants, ice cream shops, pizzerias, antique shops, bookstores and countless bars. Possibly the best place in town to get an extremely filling aperitivo- even if bars tend to get very busy, especially at weekends.

If you want to visit something very out of the ordinary, you absolutely can not miss this hidden gem. If real human skulls and bones don't creep you out too much, then go visit the back of this unique church in the very center of the city... Not for the scaredy-cats!

Duomo's rooftop is my personal highlight of the city. Pick a clear, cloudless evening and make sure you get up there right before sunset. Get a 5€-ticket, walk up the stairs, enjoy the beautiful marble statues and architecture and, when you get on top, you'll be able to see all of the city, its surroundings and even some of the most scenic mountains in Europe...

Transport tickets
I highly recommend getting a 10-ticket transportation pass as soon as you get to Milan. It will save you a lot of time and some money, too!
