Palo Alto is a perfect city to explore via bicycle. The city is mostly flat as a pancake with beautiful neighborhood, greeneries, parks and designated bike paths. Palo Alto has little traffic compared to SF or surrounding cities. Caltrain is the one of the most comfortable and fast way to get to SF. Bringing a bike along onto a caltrain will give you freedom to get off the train and bike to explore different cities along the way including Golden Gate Park in SF or miles of Biking trails along gorgeous Pacific Oceans.

Palo Alto weather is temperate and sunny. The air is fresh and drinking tap water is most delicious here in Palo Alto. However, having a light to medium sweater is recommended as there are days and evenings, Palo Alto can be surprisingly chilly.

Always bring a warm jacket with you whenever visiting SF as the weather here is highly unpredictable. It can change instantly from being sunny and warm to windy and freezing cold. SF weather pattern is opposite from the rest of the Bay Area where it is warm in the winter and cold in the summer. The warmer the inland area is, the colder SF will be.
