Beach access
You can’t visit Fort Bragg and not go visit Glass Beach. It’s amazing if you know where to look. And I do! So ask me and I’ll tell you where the glass is still deep and plentiful.

This is a five minute drive, or a half hour walk. There are little shells to be found, cool driftwood to admire or collect and you can watch boats coming in and out. Seals are often close behind boats, once in a while you might spot a river otter too.

For one, you can walk here from the house. It’s a beautiful place to walk and see the ocean. During the migration of grey whales (December-March) whale spouts can be seen from shore so clearly. You might even see one breach if you’re lucky.
Even when the whales are not here, boats and waves and seals are always out there to watch. I especially enjoy sunsets there. But you can see them nicely from the back deck too.

Whale watching
Grey whales migrating during the end of December through Mid March can actually be seen from our front windows on a clear day. But to really get a good look, book a whale watching tour.
Here are two boats that you could go on.
This nearby beach is clean and quiet. It’s a bit of a walk down to, but the trail is nice. Lots of white sand and plenty of room to spread out and explore.
