Restaurants and cake shops!!! This is what Acland Street is famous for. It is a 5-10 min walk but good to keep in mind if you are wanting a change from eating at the same restaurants and cafes that are downstairs from the apartment

Parks & Nature
Its worth a walk down to the end of the Pier to visit the Penguins on a still evening. They are urban critters and are OK with tourists visiting. Volunteers give advice and make sure they get enough privacy. When taking photos of the penguins make sure you don't use a flash - it temporarily blinds them and the volunteers have a large vat of oil at the end of the pier that they will use to boil you alive in......... just saying...

Getting Around
Get anywhere and everywhere. And if you're new to Melbourne the ride into the city will give a great perspective of where you are. The light rail line runs along the edge of Albert Park so its quite a pretty commute
