Drinks & Nightlife

Friendly and fun local place with one of the best bartenders in Baja. We enjoy their food, too. TVs show sporting events. There is often live entertainment. A hangout for local ex-pats, as well as tourists. Friday night is known for steak and lobster, which is delicious and very reasonable.

Large place with great views of the estuary. There is a large bar set in a semi-circle around the bartending area. They make all kinds of interesting drinks (and appetizers), or just relax with a good Mexican beer. There is a full kitchen and dining tables, and they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The outdoor patio is a great place to eat, drink, chat, and relax. One bonus......this place is walking distance from our house.

Food Scene

Great local hangout to get your breakfast or lunch. Pay in pesos for the best value. Delicious food, friendly atmosphere, very reasonable prices (bacon and eggs for less than $4 in pesos), fireplace inside, outdoor tables where you can sit and watch the tourists drive by on their way to La Bufadora. It is a bit of a walk, but you can walk down the beach and through La Jolla Beach Camp to get there.

Sightseeing

Unforgettable experience that is just a 15 minute or so drive from the house. The famous La Bufadora (or blowhole) is a popular tourist destination featuring a blowhole that blasts water high into the air, and occasionally drenching the tourists. The whole thing is an experience, as the walk from the parking lot to the blowhole is lined with shops, food places, restaurants, and sidewalk performers (dance and music). Enjoy phenomenal fish or shrimp tacos, or my favorite of smoked clams on the half shell while overlooking the waves on the rugged coastline. My favorite thing to do here is people-watching. Don't miss this.
