Sway gently in the trees, unplug and relax in our unique treehouse with what one of our guests stated as "a stunning view of the Chugach Mountains!" The Treehouse Experience offers Alaska glamping at its finest. You have the opportunity to sit around your own covered fire pit (wind and burn restrictions permitting) as well as enjoy your own wood burning stove.

Note: Guests must be able to climb a short, steep incline, then 20 steps of varying heights.

Ang tuluyan
The Treehouse was built by the host, "Grandpa" George, for his grandson after watching "Treehouse Masters." His grandson used it as his bedroom, year-round, for 2 years. After his grandson moved back into the main house, George remodeled the Treehouse and wanted it for his man-cave, but relented to hosting it so that others could experience the beauty of Alaska nature. The cabins and Treehouse overlook the Chugach Range of mountains and are backed up to protected land which hosts Sandhill Cranes in the summer months and moose and eagles year-round.

The Treehouse has electric, a microwave, mini-frig, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, TV (antenna), lights, electric heater for temperature control or wood burning stove. It also has a sink with 3 gallons of cold "running" water in winter for hand washing and an unlimited amount of cold water in summer months. There is a small amount of counter space. Cleanliness is important to us, so we follow AirBnB's 5 step cleaning process plus inspect our properties when cleaning is finished to offer you the best experience.

Bed arrangements are 3 stacked twin-sized bunk beds and a queen bed with clean linens. Triple bunkbed had a middle bunk that might be tight for adults (think Navy ship) but fits kids fine. Being elevated, the Treehouse view is fantastic!

You will most likely be greeted by a sweet, large black dog with one eye that appointed himself as our hospitality chair. His name is Raven.

Enjoy your own covered fire pit area (weather and burn permitting). Bring your own wood or available from us for a small fee. Cook on an outdoor small charcoal grill in our covered, outdoor mini-"food prep" area. There are only a few basic grill utensils with a small countertop to prepare your meals, if needed. The countertop also has a cold-water sink (in summer) for hand washing and food preparation.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day (or longer weather permitting), there is a private, detached, enclosed shower house complete with plenty of hot water. There is a sink in the Treehouse and another sink in the outdoor "prep area" with cold water in the summer for hand washing. Experience using an eco-friendly toilet in its own outdoor building. Smoking or 420 outside (only) is fine with us.

The fire pit area has just gone through a renovation, since George does everything to the ultimate. The fire area now has a hard roof with chimney for all-weather, year-round use. Bring some makings for s'more"s or some hot dogs for cooking over the fire pit. There is a small table and chairs for outdoor dining during the summer.

For travelers or tourists who plan to drive Fairbanks - Homer, we are a great half-way stop. The parking area accommodates all your toys, and trailers so you can bring your 4-wheelers or snow machines to go out on the trails or your boat for some boating or fishing on Big Lake.

We are located 2.6 miles to Three Bears Grocery, gas, or Shell convenience store and 2.9 miles to Floaters Pub (karaoke, live bands, food) . Floaters also has a family restaurant. Enjoy a meal at Susitna Brewing (1.5 miles), or Big Lake Family Restaurant (2.8 miles). There are 2 coffee stands and 2 gas stations/convenience stores nearby with good made-to-order pizza at the Shell convenience store.

Put your boat or jet ski in at Big Lake South Recreation Site which is 1.7 miles away. Put your kayak in at Fish Creek park 1.7 miles away. Tourists enjoy Martin Buser's Happy Trails Kennel, Alaska Dogstead Mushing, Big Lake Boat Rentals, and Wakesurf Alaska for some summer fun time on the lake. For bragging rights, in the winter take a drive out onto the lake but stick to the plowed roads and follow the lake street signs.

We are 152 miles to Denali Park village, 54 miles to Talkeetna, and 25 miles to Hatcher Pass. We are 61 miles to Anchorage, 97 miles to Girdwood, 185 miles to Seward, and 281 miles to Homer.

George and Terriann were high school sweethearts meeting in the gym while playing sports. George says "it is a romance made in the locker room". They married after graduation and after 9 children and 14 grandchildren, have been together for over 45 years!
They left the U.S. East Coast over 25 years ago to run sled dogs and build a life in beautiful Alaska. While no longer mushing dogs, they still enjoy the Alaska life and scenery while hosting guests for AirBnB, taking care of their grandchildren, and kayaking traveling, and hiking when ever they can.
