Maracanã is one of the world's most famous and important football stadiums. Stage of 'Maracanazo', when Uruguay surprisingly defeated Brazil and won the first World Cup final played here in 1950. Where the Germans won their 4th World Cup trophy in 2014 and where Pelé scored his goal number 1000.
Currently, Flamengo and Fluminense play at the Maracanã as their home stadium bringing up exciting matches especially when they face each other in a local derby!
We will meet before the match to create an opportunity to connect the group by sharing local football stories and offering a welcome drink. This will take place at a square surrounded by bars where the fans usually gather before matches to get in the proper mood! After that first moment, we'll join the fans on the way to the main stage to get seats close to the hard supporters where they wave flags and play drums! Our goal's to make you experience it as a local!
Foodies about town
This delicious introduction to food and drinks from around Brazil is unlike any other. Over the course of 4-5 hours, we'll eat and drink our way across the most interesting parts of Rio that most visitors never get to see. We'll start in one of Rio's bustling street markets, where we'll taste exotic fruits and street food dishes. After that, we'll head to my favorite Brazilian-Portuguese restaurant in Lapa for a taste of old-school Brazil, where the waiters dress in white jackets, and serve the most delicious salt cod croquettes in town. From there, we'll wander into Centro, the oldest part of the city to visit a secret foodie hotspot, a hole-in-the-wall serving classic boteco snacks (think Brazilian tapas). We’ll then take a short ride to Flamengo, where we'll taste the uniquely delicious regional dishes, first from Northeastern Brazil and finally from the Amazon.
IMPORTANT: There is a different meeting point each day of the week and the Airbnb app is not able to handle this, so we will give you detailed information on how to get to the meeting point in a message after you book.
ALSO: We generally do NOT serve feijoada or the rodizio style churrasco (all you can eat barbecue). But we can help you find the very best of both!

Explore deep into the Amazon jungle
You get picked up at your hotel at 4:40 a.m. First we go to the agency and after that to the harbor. At the harbor we take the speedboat at 6:00 a.m. We are going upriver in a really relaxed speedboat with comfortable seats, TV to see movies, breakfast, lunch and dinner served in the speedboat. In the back of the speedboat you have a deck where you can relax, get some fresh air, and view the Amazon river. It’s also possible to see animals on the way like monkeys, and a lot of birds. We arrive in Tefé at 8:00 p.m. We will sleep in a hotel in Tefé tonight.
Accommodation: Hotel in Tefé
Day 2
We wake up early and go to the harbor. Here we take the speedboat from Tefé at 6:00 a.m., arriving in Maraã at 12:00 p.m. We will have lunch in Maraã and do a small walking tour of the town.
At 1:00 p.m. we will leave for the jungle tour. We will bring a big canoe with roof and small canoes on the side, to go deep inside the small Amazon rapids. We will sail upriver and arrive at Lake Comapi around 6:00 p.m.
Here we will set up camp in the jungle with hammocks and mosquito net. We will do spearfishing to catch some dinner, and after that go back to the lakeside camp, make a campfire and prepare this evening’s dinner. After dinner we will relax before going to bed.
Accommodation: Jungle camp at Comapi Lake
Day 3
We get up at 5:30 a.m. to watch the sunrise over Lake Comapi. After that we have breakfast at 7:00 a.m., before we continue our journey to the rapids, which is three hours deeper inside the Amazon rainforest. When the Amazon rivers become too small for the big motorboat, we will switch to the small canoes. On our way to the rapids we look for animals like monkeys, giant otters, macaws, rodents and caimans. We will also do some bow fishing on the way.
We arrive at the rapids around 11:00 a.m. Here we will set up camp, relax and have a swim in the rapids. We will go spear fishing in the evening and hunting for rodents. After hunting we will get back to the camp. We will sleep in the camp tonight to the sounds of the waterfalls.
Accommodation: Jungle camp at Comapi Rapids
Day 4
We will eat breakfast by the Compai Rapids. After breakfast we will go trekking for four hours until we arrive at the Three lakes (Trés lagos). Here we will hunt for animals such as the Paca (Cuniculus Paca) and Agouti (Cutia). On the trekking we will also discover other animals and plants. We will look for medicine plants of the Amazon. Many of these plants have been used by the native indigenous people for millennia. We will try to spot animals such as snakes, reptiles, monkeys, toucans and other birds.
This part of the Amazon rainforest doesn’t see many tourists, and as such there is a much larger abundance of wildlife than closer to Manaus. This means that your chance of spotting one of these wonderful animals is very high.
After trekking and hunting we return to our base camp arriving back around 1:00 p.m. Here we have lunch and after that you have some time to relax and swim. At 4:00 p.m. we go bow fishing and spearfishing for our dinner. We will come back to base camp and prepare our dinner before settling in for the night.
Accommodation: Jungle camp at Comapi Rapids
Day 5
canoeing, fishing and hunting. We take just the hammocks with us and the bare necessities for one night. We are leaving at 9:00 a.m. and we are gonna stay the whole day and night deeper in the jungle, far from the base camp. We take the small canoes with the fishing rods and spears, and we go paddling upriver on a wild canoe adventure, up the small creeks of the Amazon. We will canoe, hunt, fish and make our own lunch.
At evening time is the chance to see monkeys, rodents, birds, giant wild otters, and other animals. We have dinner at our new camp, and we sleep this night around this wild jungle area. At that moment you are really deep inside the Amazon jungle. Probably the farthest you’ve ever been from any civilization. At night we go out in canoes to hunt rodents, and come back to the camp to relax and sleep.
Accommodation: Jungle camp in the deepest part of the jungle
Day 6
We wake up and have breakfast at 7:00 a.m. After breakfast we are canoeing back to our rapids camp, but on the way we do some fishing to catch our lunch. We will arrive at the camp around 12:00 p.m. Here we will have lunch before preparing to take down the camp and go back to the big Comapi Lake.
We’re gonna travel back in small canoes until we arrive back to the motorboat, which we will then switch to. We should be back at Comapi Lake around 4:00 p.m Here we’re gonna look for a riverside where we gonna set up the camp for the night. We are going to fish for the big black Piranha fish as well as other types of Piranha. We will see the sunset at the lakeside and do some bird watching. After that we will prepare our dinner and relax.
After dinner we’ll sail out to find and catch a wild caiman. The guide will catch the caiman and provide you with information about these prehistoric animals. After that the guide will put it back in the water. He won’t hurt the caiman at any point. After this intense night activity we will return back to the campsite to relax and sleep.
Accommodation: Jungle camp at the lakeside of Comapi Lake
Day 7
We get up at 5:00 a.m. and pack down our camp, see the sunrise while we eat breakfast, and start our journey back to Maraã. We arrive in Maraã around 10:00 a.m. Our speedboat for Tefé leaves at 11:00 a.m. and we will be in Tefé around 6:00 p.m. Here we will have dinner together and talk about the amazing Amazon jungle experience you hopefully just had. Tonight we will sleep in a hotel in Tefé.
Accommodation: Hotel in Tefé
Day 8
We have breakfast at 7:00 a.m. After breakfast we go to the airport in Tefé. Our flight leaves at 10:00 a.m. The flight time to Manaus is one hour, so we arrive in Manaus at 11:00 a.m. This is the end of the adventure!
Day 9
The flight leaves from Tefé at 9 o'clock in the morning. Flight time is approximately one hours so we will be back in Manaus at 10:00 AM.
The flight leaves just enough time to get the last panoramic perspectives of the amazing Amazon rainforest. You will be able to see the characteristic shape of how the Amazon river snakes through the jungle.
Landing in Manaus will mark the end of our adventure together this time. Maybe you will come with me for a new adventure in the future.
Two Brothers the most beautiful hike in Rio
Trilha Dois Irmãos - Brings you to arguably the best view in Rio! An experience for the more adventurous, going up the Favela via Moto Taxi and then hiking up the trail, passing through a territory unknown (Favela Vidigal).
The view at the top stretches 365 degrees around the city. You'll see the Christ statue, Lagoa, Sugar Loaf, Ilhas Cagarras, Niterói and the Bay of Rio which are all visible at the peak. There isn't another place in the city of Rio besides Pedra da Gávea that has this unique view!
Come with Experience Rio, why?
1. It's always better to have a local guide when entering a Favela.
2. With experience Rio, you will be led by professional guides with knowledge about the history of Vidigal/Rocinha + Rio.
3. Our guides are here to specifically make sure your time is amazing, we will show you all the best places for photos and of course take a few for the gram!
4. (5%) of profits goes to cleaning the trail + reforestation.
The hike is medium level with moderate rock inclines. 45 minutes of hiking up which equates to roughly 350M in elevation climb. Not recommend for those with knee or health issues!!
*SUNSET* hikes after February 10th will not have a complete "sunset" due to the transition of seasons. The sun will set further behind the Tijuca Forest until July. Regardless its absolutely beautiful and worth the experience to see the city at this time!
Trilha do Rio do Boi

Breakfast in Bom Retiro - Sao Paulo Center
Bom Retiro literally means "good place to rest" and this might be a great place for it until 200 years ago! The success of coffee production and the construction of the São Paulo Railway Company in 1847 strongly changed this area.
Also, southern European migration which firstly interested this area, would be replaced by eastern European migration, mostly due to the 2 World Wars.
Later on, other kind of migration would contribute to deeply changing this area. Bolivians, Koreans, and Brazilians from the North East are now the predominant inhabitants of this area.
Together we will have a Breakfast in Bom Retiro tasting delicacies from the Balkans and drinking a Coffee in a Korean Bakery.
