Who thought Mexican food and Hawaii would blend so well? Family-run restaurant and bar just around the corner from the Loft, next to Hilo Farmer's Market. Bigger than it looks from the front. We love going for margaritas and house-made tortilla chips with salsa and guacamole.

You just need to eat here if you like Thai. I don't think you'll find anything as fresh outside of Thailand. Favorites: tom yum soup, garlic pepper anything.

One of the best two Mexican Restaurants in downtown Hilo food is reasonable and again one of the ONLY two good Mexican places in Hilo.

After arriving in Hilo (before heading to Volcano), go to Sombat’s Fresh Thai Cuisine close by the airport to eat in or take out so that you don’t have to cook while on vacation. Sombat prepares the freshest and most flavorful Thai food in town and has been voted Best Cuisine for a number of years
