It's a great, scenic place to picnic. And in the summer they host a variety of bands. There's also a food kiosk and a lovely playground for kids.

So many parks along the Hudson have little room to actually WALK alongside the river, but this park features a decent-sized walking path (also great for scooters, skateboards, and careful cyclists) where, if you cross the lane, connects with a walking path at another park: Catskill Point. The paths mentioned above are paved. This park also has a dirt path through the woods, located past the playground. This path is not long and leads to a historic neighborhood with very nice houses on Prospect Avenue. Other features of the park include a large playground for children of all ages, a boat launch and docks, barbecue grills, and large grassy area.
