When you visit Skala, you quickly discover that the food is amazing and the price for meals is very reasonable. Part of the reason for this is that a lot of the products are grown locally ,which is also the reason why food here tastes so good! While visiting Skala one must try the famous meat pie also known as Kreatopita, very filling and tasty! You should also try out other local dishes such as : Bakaliaropita, Strapatsada, Chicken in Aliada, Tzatziki, Mousakas, Greek salad with Kefalonian Feta Cheese, Scordalia, Riganada. Along the coast, you can expect to find lots of fresh seafood in the tavernas. Popular restaurants in Skala include : The Old Times, The Flamingo Restaurant, Manolis Grill Taverna, Apostolis Taverna, The Pines, Mi Abeli Restaurant, Green Paradise Taverna, The Old Village, Sunrise fish restaurant, Penelope boat Restaurant, Kaliva Restaurant, Pitharia Restaurant, Socrates Taverna and many other wonderful restaurants . Once at Skala, you should absolutely go to Sugaro pastry shop which has the best and the cheapest ice cream and local sweets in town , such as baklava, mandola ,galaktoboureko.
