Beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors. 8.5 miles of horseback riding and hiking trails wind through cathedral like forests and to breath taking ridge top vistas Skyline Self Guided Nature Trail leads to the summit of Jack's Peak and features fossils from the Miocene epoch. Picnic areas, photography, and nature study.

The Skyline Nature Trail in Jacks Peak County Park in Monterey is a 15-minute drive away and is a gorgeous place to hike that's not too strenuous. With 8-1/2 miles of trails, the Park offers views of Monterey Bay, Carmel Valley, and the Santa Lucia Mountains that are astounding. The hike to these breathtaking views, however, won't take your breath away; a parking lot near the top of the hill brings you close to the peak. You can see fossils from the Miocene epoch embedded in the shale as you walk the Coffeeberry Trail. The Park is home to one of the only remaining natural stands of Monterey Pine trees in the U.S. The Park's a favorite for birders and is on the Central Coast Birding Trail as it has an abundance of species.
