Hive to Spoon - Honey Bee Experience at Urban Farm
Experience the wonder of honey bees in a beautiful, urban farm setting! Bees are important to our environment and I want to help you learn more about how bees live together in the hive and function as a superorganism. Is your preferred date sold out? Message me! After touring the urban farm and spotting the many pollinators busy collecting nectar and pollen on the flowers, we will move to the honey bee hives where you'll suit up and become a beekeeper with me. This experience is fun and engaging for anyone curious about the secret life of bees or connecting with nature. You don't have to be interested in becoming a beekeeper to have a great time. You will see the bees up close and personal as you hold bees in your hands and look inside the hive. I'll point out the different jobs the bees are doing, explain how they make honey, show you the baby bees and maybe even spot the queen. We'll conclude with a honey tasting including seasonal fruit so you can taste the honey made by the bees you visited. During the honey tasting held near the greenhouse and orchard, we'll talk more about bees, pollination and honey. Other things to note: Please wear full length pants, socks that completely cover ankles and closed-toe shoes. Let me know of any bee, food or honey allergies. You might consider wearing unscented sunscreen and bringing a hat for the farm walk.
Magical Story Wine Tasting Experience in Amador
We are Story Winery, located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Our winery consists of an 1865 former gold miner bunk/treehouse turned tasting room. It is surrounded by old and beautiful vineyards, planted in 1894, and the thing we are known for other than our award-winning wines, the awe-inspiring canyon views is something your heart will not easily forget. You are welcome to bring a picnic-style lunch and enjoy it with some of our award-winning wine. Other than our ancient/old vines, we also have been noted in various press releases such as Sacramento Magazine for utilizing the ancient UNESCO recognized Georgian Claypot (Qvevri) Method of winemaking used for 8,000 years in the Republic of Georgia where the owner originally hails from. On top of rare Georgian grape varietals, and high-quality local varietals being made in the Oldworld Qvevri method, Story features more than 20 other local varietals (many of them award winners) Amador is famous for, such as old-vine zinfandels, barbera, syrah, and much more! We can't wait to host you so come check out Story Winery and write your own magical story!
Five-K Walk of Davis History
We begin and end at Central Park, home of the Saturday morning Farmers' Market and the Hattie Weber Museum of local Davis history and heritage. We will walk and talk a 5K: stops include the Bicycle Hall of Fame, train depot, Putah Creek and the Native American Contemplation Garden, the Mondavi Center for Performing Arts, historical markers including original olive and fig trees from the Davis and Chiles families, the Silo of the University Farm, and more. Learn about the major influences that have shaped Davis: Putah Creek and early inhabitants, the californios and land grants, agriculture/husbandry, the railroad, and the university farm. We will also have the opportunity to see more recent history in development projects and public art along the way. All these places are publicly available for you to visit any time, and yet their rich history is not often heard. When you take time to examine the footprints of the Patwins, rancheros, settlers, fur trappers, judges, artists, administrators, and students who walked in the space over decades and centuries before you, Davis will take on new meaning. Other things to note We WILL be walking ~3.2 mi., so please wear comfy shoes, dress in layers, and bring water. The walk usually takes 2 hours. If you need to shorten it or need to be somewhere after, let me know in advance so I can accommodate you. We meet at Central Park in front of the Hattie Weber Museum on C St.

A Taste of the Delta -Cidery Tour & Tasting, Lunch, Winery
Spend a half day discovering the hidden gems of the historic Delta, known as the ‘heart’ of California. The Delta is a network of intricate waterways, canals and sloughs, charming small towns steeped in lore, 50 plus islands, national historic landmarks, nature preserves and agricultural abundance tucked away just a stone’s throw from the Bay Area and Sacramento. The area is home to legacy towns that were established on the Sacramento River along with the steamboat trade. The famous ‘Delta breeze’ cools the land in the evening on even the hottest days, and its rich soil make it the perfect home to farms and wineries. The Delta is rich and mysterious, a labyrinth of draw bridges, legendary watering holes and even a haunted mansion. Our Taste of the Delta Tour will introduce you to a few local gems that represent the history of pear farming, wine making and the bounty of this region. The day begins with a behind the scenes tour of family owned Hemly Cider in Courtland, hidden away among pear orchards and fields of corn. We kick things off with a cider tasting followed by a deep dive tour of the cidery from the owner. Next up is a lunch at an historical tap house along the Delta. We end the day leisurely experiencing a custom wine tasting with taste pairings at a family owned winery in beautiful Clarksburg.

Seasonal Charcuterie and a Sip
What makes my Experience unique is that I've done many hours of research in person and online for each gathering of my Experience. I've met in person with cheesemongers and butchers. My Experience is seasonal and will probably also change within a season as I learn more and incorporate more techniques into my Experience. So...what will we do? Drumroll, please. With my guidance, each guest will be creating their own seasonal charcuterie plate along with a seasonal wine drink to go along with it. We will use diverse flavors and textures of cheeses along with cured and/or uncured meats, seasonal vegetables, fruits, and a few surprises thrown in for good measure. You'll learn techniques to make your cheeses, meats, veggies, and fruits look as fun and festive as they taste. Your own masterpiece on a plate. What you learn with me can be applied to all of your summer entertaining with family and friends.

Reiki Healing Meditation in Nature.
We will meet at Folsom lake, which is a state park, and walk a short distance (5-10 mins) to be near the water, surrounded by nature. We will practice a form of meditation that incorporates Reiki (a form of energy healing, of which I will give a brief introduction), mindfulness, guided imagery, and nature awareness. This practice is a blend of silent and guided meditation, which will allow us to focus on the rhythms and sounds of nature, our own breath, and our connection to nature. I will show you how to let nature "bathe" you in healing energies, and how to share healing intentions with nature. My intention is that this experience will be inspiring and will allow each participant to not only tap into and benefit from the healing energy (which is present everywhere, and even more easily attuned to in nature), but also become aware of their own innate power to generate this energy, and share it with others. Please feel free to contact me to see if I am available if you don't see a date or time posted that works for you. If you have limited mobility issues please feel free to contact me to discuss if we can meet at a different location with less walking. **Please note, rain cancels the event** Other things to note Please bring a blanket, towel or yoga mat for sitting on the ground. Or if you prefer, bring a folding chair. Wear comfortable shoes for walking to our spot. * I will give a brief introduction about what Reiki is, but please note this is a meditation experience not a Reiki class.
