A Vancouver favourite as long as I can remember. Just off the Stanley Park Seawall (a Vancouver must do). Check out Stanley Park, even circumnavigate the park on foot or rent a bicycle. Then hit Cardero's for a delicious dinner with a fabulous view overlooking the harbour, Stanley Park and the North Shore Mountains. Service is excellent.

If you park a couple blocks south of the restaurant you can probably find free parking on the street then walk north (back toward the city and mountains) for the best shops.

From skiing, skating, snowshoeing and sled rides in the winter to hiking, zip lining, and catching the lumberjack show in the summer, there is always a ton to do. The Gondola ride to the top is a whopping $45 return (adult fare) whereas the ticket down is only $10 but you'll have to hike the Grouse Grind for that deal! This hike is strenuous and should only be attempted if you are in good shape, have proper shoes for hiking and plenty of water. The hike is one way. Reward yourself at the top by sitting out on the Bistro patio and taking in the AMAZING view!

This is a fun place to bring kids. It's busy in the summer. Allow yourselves plenty of time and grab a burger and visit the gift shop.

Excellent, fairly short local trail to a beautiful lookout point. This is a very popular trail and I'd recommend going on a weekday rather than fighting the crowds on the weekend. You'll also find it much easier to park during the week. After your hike, reward yourself with a Honey's donut in Deep Cove Village. If you want to combine water and land, you can rent paddle boards and kayaks at Deep Cove Kayak Centre before or after your hike. Book ahead for rentals.

A lesser known small park with amazing views, rocks to climb and a sweet beach. Divers frequent the area. Jump boulders out to the large rock "island" but be sure to head back before the tide comes in or you may be stranded. This park is close to Horseshoe Bay where the ferries to Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and Bowen Island go in and out. There are several casual restaurants and a few shops in Horseshoe Bay.

This is a moderate half day hike. Hike starts at the base of the ski hill.

Enjoy the ride or hike up.. its a terrific hike (take the gondola back down). The hike takes about 4 hours, mostly uphill but with some nice flat breaks and beautiful views along the way. I prefer this hike over the Grouse Grind. Even though it is a longer hike it is far more enjoyable with much better views on the way up. At the top there are plenty of trails, an incredible suspension bridge, food and decks to take in the awe inspiring views! A visit to town, Shannon Falls and sunset at Porteau Cove will round out your day!

Every Friday night during the summer there is a lively free concert in the village courtyard at 7pm.
