Honey's Doughnuts is a Deep Cove, actually a worldwide, known location for a sweet treat. They have the best doughnuts and it is a must-visit while you're here. Be prepared to wait in a line, but rest-assured these donughts are worth waiting for.

This is a new eatery to Deep Cove. The tacos are amazing and are perfect to grab to have a picnic at Panorama.

We love Cafe Orso's coffee. The line is shorter than Honey's and, in my opinion, the coffee is better. Plus they have coconut milk if you are dairy free.

If you are cooking for yourself, Meat the Butcher has excellent meats. The deli meats are delicious and if you're craving a roast chicken, theirs are the best. But you must call ahead to reserve one as they make them to order. My favourite flavour is the Chorizo - YUM!

Places to bring kids

These are our favourite places to go in Deep Cove. I've mentioned in each which age is best for the activity, based on my experience 😀
If you're looking for a place to bring children that are 8 or younger - Myrtle Park is the best! There is a water park, playground, and a patch of trees that the kids love to build and create in. It is also just around the corner from our house so it is an easy walk.

www.pne.ca/playland This is our local amusement park. There are over 30 rides and it's a great place to spend some time outdoors. Be aware on hot days, it is really hot there and there is very little shade to hide in.

If your family enjoys pools over the ocean, New Brighton Pool is a great spot that's just over the bridge (20min drive). It is only open from late May until early September and bookings must be made 3 days in advance from 12pm. Bookings are 1hr and 45min long at set times. Kids ages 8+ can be in the pool by themselves. Under 8 must be with an adult within arms reach. There is also a playground there and is a great spot to have a picnic after the time-limited swim. https://vancouver.ca/parks-recreation-culture/new-brighton-pool.aspx

Rainy Day Activities

Vancouver is often nicknamed "RainCity" instead of "VanCity" because of the amount of rain we get. Here are some fun things to do on these rainy days.
This is our closest cinema. It has full recliner seats and is super comfortable. Seats should be reserved in advance at https://www.cineplex.com/.

Warning - it is busier on rainy days, but this is a great place to take the kids rain or shine. Science World has a variety of things to look at. There are experiments, a playzone, and Imax movies. There is also nearby playground and if you feel like a longer walk you can go along the seawall to Granville Island. https://www.scienceworld.ca/

If you are looking for a more challenging hike, The Grouse Grind is one that many have tried. I actually passed Jack Black on it once. The Grouse Grind® is a 2.5-kilometre trail up the face of Grouse Mountain, commonly referred to as “Mother Nature’s Stairmaster". If you are hiking up the Grouse Grind, purchase a Download Ticket for your Skyride trip down the mountain. Downhill hiking is not permitted. It's a great workout but is very challenging for kids under 10. On average it takes up to 2 to 2.5 hours to complete the hike. The Grind is open from early Spring to late Fall depending on the snowfall. Check the website to make sure it’s open.
