We like coming here in the summer when we want to go for an extended road bike ride along a paved forested pedestrian-only road into the mountains. There is also Rice Lake for a great walk or if you enjoy fishing for trout.

This is a stunning park for a walk or picnic at the beach. Great kid's playground. There is a concession stand open during the summer. If the parking lots are full, consider parking at Little Cates and walking along the beach tails to the main park. You won't be dissapointed.
