After a long closure due to a damaging wind storm and COVID-19. the Quarry Rock trail overlooking Deep Cove and Indian Arm finally reopened in April 2023. Be warned though, that this immensely popular trail (see photo in our listing section) should be tried in the morning as by afternoon the "Cove" has aborbed more than its share of Vancouverite cars. If you take the Deep Cove bus 211, you needn't worry about the lack of parking.

Be warned though, that this immensely popular trail (see photo in our listing section) should be tried in the morning as by afternoon the "Cove" has aborbed more than its share of Vancouverite cars. If you take the Deep Cove bus 211, you needn't worry about the lack of parking.

Good fresh salmon and halibut, cod, crab and crab cakes, mussels, clams, shrimp. Popular for fish and chips takeout.

On a sunny day, you can sit outside and admire the view of downtown Vancouver while having a latte, breakfast or lunch in the Shipyards district. Quick access to downtown Vancouver via the Seabus (12 minute ride). From the Seabus station on the other side, you can take a quick 15-minute bus to explore Vancouver's Stanley Park and its famed eight-kilometre seawalk, which people jog, bike or simply stroll. Other trips include a visit to Granville Market, which has lots of spots from which you can watch tugs mix it up with sailboats and motor yachts.

Some Activities to Get You Outside in the sunshine
Lots of variety available for visitors to the North Shore, from hiking and biking West Coast forest trails to strolling along the seawall between West Vancouver's Ambleside and Dundarave Village and shopping at B.C.'s two largest shopping centres. Want to stay close to the guest cottage? You can visit on foot Fisherman's Trail along the Seymour River to the new suspension bridge or strolll inside the bird sanctuary at 300-acre Maplewood Flats conservation area, once home to famed novelist Malcolm Lowry for a few winters. Both are 15-minute walks away. Want to do some shopping? It's just a 15-minute drive to the 300-store Park Royal shopping centre in neighhbouring West Vancouver. Hike to Quarry Rock. A fantastic aerial view of Deep Cove and Indian Arm awaits you after a 45-minute hike along moderately easy-rated trails through West Coast forest. You can also rent kayaks at Deep Cove to explore the fjord-like Indian Arm. Finally, you might consider making a day-trip to Whistler-Blackcomb, site of the 2010 Winter Olympics, and stop along the way to ride the Sea to Sky Gondola for a panoramic view of Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains.
