Well its kinda the centre of the Island!. It sits in the middle of a large caldera - a flat wasteland. You'll travel up on a cable car - better to book tickets in advance as queues can be lengthy. Note the air is quite thin on top so you may feel dizzy & breathless, but its a pretty unique experience.

The largest lava tube system in Europe - another very unique experience in Icod de los Vinos. But plan ahead as you'll need to travel North so its probably a day-trip.

Puerto de la Cruz is an enjoyable break from the South of the Island. We sometimes have a week-end break up here. Note that while there is a lot of street parking its also very hard to find a space to park in the main down-town and beach areas. Look for paid parking to make your life easier.
