Mount Batten 2 Minutes from Jennycliff, this man made pier stretches out into the Sound opposite Drakes Island, it is a great vantage point to see the Hoe, Barbican and the surrounding areas, it is also great for fishing with a variety of species when in season you can catch Mackerel, Whiting, Cod, Conga, Bass the list goes on,
Mount Batten Tower (pictured)— In 1652, Mount Batten Tower, a 30-foot high circular artillery fort was built here; it is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

At low water you can walk to Burgh Island where there is an art deco hotel where Agatha Christie wrote some of her books, and you can have a pint in the 700 year old Pilchard Inn, treat yourself to a walk to the top of the island the views are breath taking.
