Sightseeing
We are right on the doorstep of Blenheim Palace, a World Heritage Site, which is definitely worth a visit. You can spend hours exploring the palace itself but if you just want to see it and explore the grounds you can ‘sneak in’ through one of the public footpath gates near Little Brightside. However, for the full experience you can buy a ticket to the Palace itself as well as the gardens and cafes. Your ticket can be converted f.o.c to an annual pass. There are often art exhibitions and other activities held at Blenheim Palace which are excellent.

Neighborhoods
Woodstock is a beautiful market town on the edge of the Cotswolds and where we live!
Woodstock has loads of places to eat. We like the Punchbowl pub (not super fancy but great service and good food), the Kings Arms has just had a refurb and The Crown always has a good atmosphere and good cocktails - all within walking distance if Little Brightside. A short drive away (1.5 miles) is The Duke which offers great food and service - definitely worth a trip for brunch, lunch or dinner. Hampers is great for picnic food and Alfonso’s ice cream is 💯 and has the best coffee in town!!
If the weather is nice, we enjoy getting a pizza from Brothertons (an Italian restaurant in Woostock) and sitting with a bottle of wine by the lake in Blenheim (we will leave you picnic chairs so you can do the same should you wish).
We are not so lucky when it comes to takeaways though - no Deliveroo or Uber eats sadly. But there is a fish and chip shop, a Chinese (wok inn) and an Indian (DaBa) in Woodstock.
If you want to go a little further afield, we can recommend the following cafes:
- The Chequers at Churchill
- Quince and Clover in Great Tew
- The Shed in Charlbury
- The Milk Shed in Weston on the Green
They all do great food in idyllic locations.
Daylesford in Kingham and Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farmshop are always popular and easily reachable from Little Brightside.
