City/town information

Vancouver’s North Shore (North Van City & West Van City) is more than just the majestic mountain backdrop for one of the world’s most scenic cities. It’s a year-round, more-than-mountains, destination where the city and wild nature collide. This is the place where landscapes, history, culture, and people connect in a region of varied experiences. From our snow-capped mountaintops to our towering old-growth forests to the turquoise waters of our shoreline. Not an hour down the highway, but mere minutes to Downtown Vancouver. We’re the wilderness on the city’s doorstep. Here you move from cosmopolitan neighbourhoods to wild adventure and back in an afternoon. City to gritty in minutes. We’re a world-class mountain biking and hiking mecca but with neighbourhoods with extraordinary dining and shopping just moments away. Take your bike at the end of the day from rooty trails in our wild parks to a frosty craft beer in the turn of a wheel. Forest bathe and fill your cup. We’re home to world-class skiing and boarding, snowshoeing, hiking, and kayaking, and some of the region’s most popular attractions. We’re the birthplace of freeriding, known internationally as a mountain biking mecca. Vancouver’s North Shore is made up of distinctive and characterful neighborhoods. Each unique but all full of small-town spirit and North Shore pride. (Excerpted from "https://vancouversnorthshore.com/")
