Ski, bike, golf, restaurants, festivals! Hunter is a winter wonderland but also fantastic for seasonal changes. Local shops and General stores give you the home cooked meals and locally source goods that you travel for.

Over the Rip Van Winkle is this Polish delight. We have been a fan since they opened and have been going back for years. The owners are friendly and the food is 2nd to none on that side of the Hudson.

Excellent sea food. Covid has restricted a lot of local dining menus, but the restaurant is on the Hudson River. Bald Eagles nest in the woods to the south and while dining outside, you can unusually hear them or see them. I would recommend the sea scallops. Yum

It’s a trip into the states rich history. Old mansions line the Hudson River and the buildings on Main Street are from a time almost forgotten. Catskill is a vast town with hidden watering holes, rolling mountains, waterfalls and it will entertain the long country drives to nowhere.

Our facility is 1.2 miles from the Amtrack train station. You can certainly walk it, if you’d like. Most come via Uber or cab. It’s a 5-6 min drive up Warren Street. During the drive, look around as there are many shops and restaurants. Mostly everything you would need is within walking distance. It’s also an animal friendly town.

Kids Parks
There are a few parks where the young one’s can stretch their legs. 7th street park is small but is in the center of Hudson. A few minutes walk from our Airbnb. If you have a car, Greenport Town park has a large playground kids of all ages.

Due to Covid, you should call in advance any restaurant you plan on going to. Most of them are taking reservations.

CVS & Medical Facilities
There is a CVS just past 7th street on Warren. It’s about a 7-10 minute walk. We have kids, we forget stuff....... its a great spot for mostly anything from tooth paste to Advil. If you require medical attention, Columbia Green Memorial Hospital is lest then 1/3 of a mile from our Airbnb. (Make a left at the corner stop sign......drive about 400 feet and its on your left.)
