Mudjimba/Marcoola Mudjimba Beach is an unspoiled coastal haven just a stones throw from Maroochydore and 90 minutes from Brisbane. The endless, golden sands of this beach are bounded by the Maroochy River and the Pacific Ocean. Hidden away in the backstreets has given this glorious beach hidden gem status and made it the perfect getaway for those seeking a truly relaxing beach holiday with friends and family. This aquatic playground is patrolled daily and you should only swim between the flags near Mudjimba Surf Clubs watch tower in case of rips or strong currents. Along the beach you'll find excellent fishing spots. For surfers there are consistent surf breaks along the beach. The patrolled parts of the beach are perfect for the kids boogie board adventures. There is a fantastic kids playground adjacent to Mudjimba Surf Club. This grassy recreation area is well-shaded and covered barbecues and picnic tables make this a great spot for a long, lazy lunch. Just across the road there are numerous eateries serving everything from traditional fish n chips to organic, locally-grow fare and espresso coffee. Mudjimba Beach is three kilometres south of Marcoola. There is plentiful, unmetered parking close to the beach front or you can hike or ride along the 4km path between the two places. Held every Friday from 4pm to 8pm, Marcoola Twilight Market is a celebration of food, music and good times. Feast on dumplings, doughnuts, German hotdogs and tacos with the soundtrack of waves crashing onto the beach behind you. On Saturdays, from 8am to 12pm, you can load up on the region’s freshest produce at the Farmers Market. Surfair is located on the beach front at Marcoola for that Surf Club experience.
A Mooloolaba holiday is a waking dream to be shared by your whole family. You can step out of your accommodation and onto the pure white sand of Mooloolaba Beach – voted the fourth best beach in Australia in the 2019 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards - within two minutes, or cycle or walk to Mooloolaba Spit for calm, sheltered swimming and delicious seafood enjoyed fresh off the trawler. There are so many things to do in Mooloolaba. Shop and dine along Mooloolaba’s glamorous beachfront esplanade full of outdoor cafes, juice bars, alfresco restaurants, and fashion boutiques. The Esplanade even boasts a public ‘loo with a view’ which offers an uninterrupted view of Mooloolaba Beach. This quirky icon says a lot about the place and the way it manages to combine breathtaking natural beauty with a down to earth heart. The Wharf precinct in Mooloolaba is a destination in itself, having been revitalised and reimagined with fantastic retail, food and drink, entertainment, adventure and education services. With attractions like the exciting SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast, as well as some of the Sunshine Coast’s best dining, there is non-stop entertainment available for any age. Mooloolaba is also one of the busiest seafood ports on the eastern seaboard. The wharf is a hive of daily activity with trawlers bringing in boatloads of swordfish, Mooloolaba prawns, lobsters and spanner crabs. Perfect for a picnic on the beach.
