This is a fun place for breakfast nearby. The have an extensive menu and great coffee. Portion sizes vary. Gord had their Threesome! (eggs, bacon and pancake) and found it sparse whereas my breakfast poutine was very generous. The place is really hopping on weekends and can be quite loud. Definitely family friendly. On their website eatoeb.com you can check the wait time and add your name to the waitlist before heading down. I'd give it a 4/5 star rating whereas Gord's rating is 3/5.

Sightseeing
If the weather is good, this would be my No.1 pick to really see the city. Starting from Canada Place you can walk or ride around Stanley Park, go along English Bay to Science World then around False Creek to Granville Island and on to Vanier Park. This would be a very full day to do it all by bike, and way too much to do on foot, particularly as there is so much to stop and see along the way. Pick the section that most interests you and if you're not sure, I'd be happy to help out. If you had only 1 day to see Vancouver, this is what I would recommend as it really gives you the flavour of the city - provided that the weather is good!

Quintessential tourist spot but definitely worth seeing! Not only a favourite for tourists, but well loved by Vancouverites as well. I have great memories of going there as a child with parents and grandparents! Bike riding in the park was the best!

Squamish is rapidly developing, picturesque town at the head of Howe Sound. It used to be just the place we stopped for gas and maybe a McDonald's cone on the way to Whistler. Now it is a destination in it's own right. The old downtown strip provides many interesting little stores and coffee shops. The greater Squamish area boasts many large stores, hotels and residential areas. There is a golfing, rafting and rock climbing - not for the faint of heart! It is about a 45 min drive from our house - and the drive is SPECTACULAR!

Now it is a destination in it's own right. The old downtown strip provides many interesting little stores and coffee shops. The greater Squamish area boasts many large stores, hotels and residential areas. There is a golfing, rafting and rock climbing - not for the faint of heart! It is about a 45 min drive from our house - and the drive is SPECTACULAR!

It was a most fortunate find! The ice-cream cones are made in a machine imported from New Zealand which mixes fruit with plain ice-cream and comes out as a swirl cone. Delicious - and I can even feel good about getting my fruit serving in! As a bonus - there is a little patio out front where you can sit and enjoy your treat.
