Not very local but if you have a car it's a great place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner with a view of the Fraser River. It's best to wait and put your name on the list to get a river view.

Great place for breakfast or bunch to take in the view of the tugs and barges on Fraser River. As to sit on the terrace. If it's busy add your name to the list and take a walk along the river.

I hear that they're renovation. Best check before heading out. if this place isn't open try the Granville Island Hotel at the other end of the island. "Waterfront Pub" is a terrific place to go for a quick bite when on Granville Island. Remember there are two restaurants in the one building. The "Waterfront Pub" is affordable cuisine with the same view as the higher end "Bridge Restaurant". Here's their online menu: https://www.bridgesrestaurant.com/waterfront-pub.html

One of my favourites on a sunny day. Line ups can be long. If you're willing to wait, make sure the person taking your name knows you would like a window seat. If you're looking for seafood and a great location this is the spot most locals head to. It's not too outrageous for pricing. If you are going ask to sit on the patio outside if it's a nice day or by the fireplace up top if it's a little cooler. They will have blankets to keep you warm if you need them. https://www.vancouverdine.com/sandbar/

Places to see...

I grew up in Vancouver and these are my favourites. They won't necessarily be the "tourist places" everyone hears about outside Vancouver but it's where the locals head.
This is my long time favourite for Vancouver. You will find mostly locals here. If a no cost alternative to Capilano Suspension bridge although if you don't have a car it's a little hard to get to with public transportation. It has a real suspension bridge, lots of scenic trails and a visitors centre. This is where most of the shows like X-Files and other famous movies go to get the West Coast feel to their movies. https://lynncanyon.ca/

Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is renowned for its displays of world arts and cultures, in particular works by First Nation band governments of the Pacific Northwest. The building is worth the trip as well. n 1976 the new building, designed by renowned Canadian architect Arthur Erickson. https://moa.ubc.ca/ You can get there from here very easily. Either the 49 on 49th Avenue or the 41 or 43 on 41st Avenue will take you there (as long as they state (UBC) on the bus. Some buses stop prior to getting to UBC. Once off the bus you can follow the signs to the museum. About a 15 minute walk from the UBC bus exchange.

A tourist hub with lots of great shops and places to eat. Can be get there easy by bus by taking the 49 on 49th then getting off at Langara and taking the 15 Cambie bus which should change into the 50 (Granville Island bus) without you even having to get off the bus.

No trip to Vancouver would be complete without a trip to Stanley Park. You can get there easily by taking the Fraser to downtown, then getting off at Kingsway and taking the 19 Stanley Park in front of the little park at Kingsway and Fraser. There are other ways. That's the most direct, but might not be the 'fastest'. Taking the Canada Line at Langara would most likely be faster. https://vancouver.ca/parks-recreation-culture/stanley-park.aspx
