"Waterfront Pub" is a terrific place to go for a quick bite when on Granville Island. Remember there are two restaurants in the one building. The "Waterfront Pub" is affordable cuisine with the same view as the higher end "Bridge Restaurant".

I grew up in Vancouver and these are my favourites. They won't necessarily be the "tourist places" everyone hears about outside Vancouver but it's where the locals head.
This is my long time favourite for Vancouver.
You will find mostly locals here. If a no cost alternative to Capilano Suspension bridge although if you don't have a car it's a little hard to get to with public transportation.
It has a real suspension bridge, lots of scenic trails and a visitors centre. This is where most of the shows like X-Files and other famous movies go to get the West Coast feel to their movies.

No trip to Vancouver would be complete without a trip to Stanley Park.
You can get there easily by taking the Fraser to downtown, then getting off at Kingsway and taking the 19 Stanley Park in front of the little park at Kingsway and Fraser. There are other ways. That's the most direct, but might not be the 'fastest'. Taking the Canada Line at Langara would most likely be faster.
