More upscale - local family owns it. They have never disappointed. End of the driveway - take a left - it is half a block up, just before the gas station.

We all need a fix - There are two in walking distance. One inside Safeway (bottom of the driveway, turn left, across the street 1/2 a block - up). The second one is brand new (bottom of the driveway, turn right, across the street 1/2 a block down).
But the Bagel Kitchen is locally owned and VERY good and they have specialty coffee too.

The perfect evening - appetizers and drinks by the firepits next to Roy's in the Spanish Bay resort, listen to the bagpiper at sunset then wander up the driveway to this little gem. Casual and delicious - tater tots - I will leave it there.
OR they have wonderful firepits outside Sticks overlooking the golf course.

Take your time - stop at Big Sur River in for a lunch - Full service restaurant OR we like to bring a blanket, get a burrito at the little store and sit by the river on the grass in front of the Inn.

Beach volleyball court. Great place to park and walk the Monterey Rec Trail - either way - towards Alisomar or the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

BEST KEPT SECRET - Stillwater Cove - park at the Beach Club near the Lodge (there is public parking near the Wharf) depending on the time of year you maybe the only one on the beach. Depending on the time of day and year the beach is amazing to walk. Sometimes in the winter, the tide is up and there is no beach.
