Ocean Drive is known mostly for its Art Deco hotels and restaurants/bars, many of which have been prominently featured in numerous movies and media. Among the most popular is the 1939 Colony Hotel, known as the most photographed art deco hotel. Renovated as a boutique hotel, it has been featured in cameos in scores of movies and TV shows, including the series Dexter. Another popular art deco hotel is the Clevelander Hotel; in addition to its standard hotel services, it has an indoor sports lounge, a dance floor and pool area on the ground floor, and a complementary roof-top lounge. The exterior of the Carlyle Hotel was used for the Birdcage drag club in the 1996 comedy The Birdcage. The Sunray Apartments were featured in the movie Scarface (1983). The 2002 video game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, based the look of its eponymous city on Miami. It has a replica of Ocean Drive with exactly the same name. Ocean Drive is also the location of the famed Casa Casuarina, the residence of the late Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace. Since his death, the house was sold and adapted for use as a boutique hotel. It is one of the most photographed houses in North America.

Picture this: You’re lying on the beach in a luxuriously plush daybed while soaking up the sun. Someone brings you fresh snapper ceviche and a fruity cocktail with an umbrella (perfect for the ‘gram). You sip, sit back and relax as you admire the impending sunset slowly turn Miami’s skyline from a turquoise blue to cotton candy pink. The sun becomes enveloped into Biscayne Bay’s sparkling blue waves. You’re at maximum relaxation. But the night is still young: Do you join the rest of the crowd for drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the rustic-chic beach bar? Or maybe you decide to slip into your Lululemons and take a full-moon yoga class. Or perhaps you just want to continue to lie back as a DJ nearby spins chill beach tunes.

What Star Island lacks in size it makes up for in star power. Home to some of the world’s most famous celebrities, this historic South Florida neighborhood offers some of the most gorgeous properties on Biscayne Bay. Sparkling waterfront homes, lush landscaping, and sprawling villas define this gem at the southern tip of Florida. One of the many islands uncovered as excavators worked on Biscayne, Star Island has come to serve as the epitome of luxury and class in South Beach’s fine neighborhoods. Star Island real estate has come a long way since the island was formed by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1922. As travelers venture down the infamous MacArthur’s Causeway, a beautiful island of pristine homes and recognizable celebrities greets their eyes. Just south of the Venetian Islands and east of the Palm and Hibiscus Islands, Star Island is a small haven of prestige and privacy. Star Island’s proximity to all the major South Beach attractions allows its inhabitants to experience the exclusivity of life on Star Island alongside access to some of the finest restaurants and clubs South Florida has to offer. A quick boat ride across the Biscayne Bay takes you to Full Bloom for an elegant evening of waterfront dining or Macchialina for some of the best Italian food on the mainland. Our homes in the Star Island neighborhood bring together the mystique of the community along with the access to all the desirable amenities and activities of life around South Beach. Ranging from a 20,000-square foot historic masterpiece built by Miami Beach Pioneer Carl Fisher to an option to build your own paradise with world-renowned architect Ricardo Bofill, our homes bring out the best of Star Island. The waterfront properties are complete with wine cellars, soaring ceilings, open verandas, and rich landscaping. If the next chapter of your life calls for luxury, Star Island beckons. At the end of the day, there’s a reason celebrities like Shaquille O’Neal, Lebron James, Rosie O’Donnell, and Sean “Diddy” Combs have made Star Island their home. The exclusivity, beauty, and access to all of South Beach’s finest amenities makes this locale second to none for your next home.

Cipriani Downtown Miami is high-fashion Italian dining in many ways, from the clientele wearing designer labels to the contemporary cuisine to the space, designed in blue and white by Florentine architect Michele Bonan. Located on the waterfront, the two-level, indoor-outdoor restaurant features Murano glass chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling windows and decorative elements inspired by luxury yachts and ocean liners. A sibling to the famed Ciprianis worldwide and the original Harry's Bar in Venice, the menu offers Italian luxuries of all kinds: aged Praga ham, homemade ravioli and tortellini, langoustines served scampi-style, and of course Champagne bowls filled with the famed Bellinis, comprising peach puree and Prosecco, that were invented at Harry's. Second-generation hosts Maggio and Ignazio ensure that guests also have a party of a time at the more intimate Cipriani Bar.

“Grab an outside table and have a magical night” at this Key Biscayne icon, where the “spectacular vista” of the “Miami skyline” across Biscayne Bay outshines the “better-than-good” seafood and “friendly” service; besides the “romantic” location, the fact that it's “well priced for a special occasion” cements this as a “perfect place” to have “your first date or your 40th anniversary.”
No wonder that Zak's bakery is always packed with people: this place is the best place in Wynwood for breakfast, lunch or a quick nibble. Everything is fresh and tasty. It's a bit pricey but you pay for quality. Highly...More. Kosher. That bread found on every table in town? Odds are Zak baked it. The popular baker, who has been supplying bread around town for years now, now has his own shop in the mix. Expect not only his signature breads, but also an assortment of soups, sandwiches, and pastries that will turn even the most carb-fearing person into a bread-loving convert.

There’s no denying that South American influence can be found in dishes throughout Miami. But Obra isn’t just turning out run of the mill fare that can is seen on menus in the area. Led by chef Carlos Garcia, who is best known for Alto in Caracas, which was part of the Latin American 50 Best Restaurants for the first four years of its opening, it it serving up some of the best and most creative Latin-fusion food in city — if not the country. Guests are encouraged to grab a seat at the bright wrap around counter that surrounds the open kitchen and watch the masters at work. There they’ll see the kitchen making creative dishes like arepas filled with soft shell crab, fries topped with sea urchin and eggs, burrata with pork rinds and tomatoes, rigatoni with clams and nori, that’s all well-priced and beautiful to the eye.

At its entrance, this Wynwood institution boasts "air conditioning, cold beer, and cocktails." Indeed, those are the basics for a successful Miami bar, but Gramps goes the extra mile and then some — from a robust roster of live music, DJs, and drag bingo to some damn fine pizza and more. Ensconce yourself in the bar area or find a table on the patio. A little bit hipster hang, a little bit dive bar — Gramps is a welcome respite for the beer-and-a-shot crowd and the craft-cocktail maven alike.
