253 acre private forested mountain about 15 minutes north of the northern fingers of Shasta Lake. Access includes 2 miles down a dirt/ rock logging road.

Ang tuluyan
This is a large private area suitable for camping. there is private parking but not yet a level space for an RV. there are multiple sites where tents can be put up and there is a large space for campfires. there is a partial switchback headed down to the main creek which traverses the property. it is approximately 1/3 of a mile of pristine riparian robust year-round creek which drains into the Sacramento River.

Access ng bisita
there is a lockable forestry-style gate through a driveway access off of the logging road. This will comfortably park any vehicle.

Iba pang bagay na dapat tandaan
This is a large tract of land in an area called a timber production zone. This particular property borders national Park on three sides and state of California on the 4th, so there is no adjacent logging and there is no traditiona logging occurring on this parcel, although logging trucks do navigate Fenders Ferry Road.
we are coming up on hunting season, but this parcel is large and hunters are obliged to respect property boundaries, this is also bordered by national Park, so you should not expect any interaction with other parties on the property.

Lokasyon

Shasta County, California, Estados Unidos

it is important to be aware that l before the first freeze in the fall mosquitos come out at dawn and dusk, worse at dusk. you can retreat to the Sacramento River down the logging road at dusk where the dragonflies keep the mosquito population near zero. you can also hole up in a tent, as it gets dark a campfire will keep the mosquitos away. during the day the mosquitoes sleep. At dawn if you drink coffee in the container the bugs usually won't go inside.
you also have to be aware that this is bear country. while bears are afraid of you they are not afraid of your food, your campsite, or even the fire area. they will run when they see you but if they think they can grab your trash or your food, they will, so don't put food in your tent, and lock it up at night in the container.
Campbell's Creek is the main canyon creek on the property. if you are a fairly hardy hiker you should try and track down some water shoes and walk the creek, it is fantastic. Please leave no trace.

Hello. I have had this cabin up in the mountains for about 12 years. I bought it as a wooded mountain retreat away from the city. I was drawn to the year-round running water that comes out of this Canyon, being born in West Virginia and growing up around mountain streams I missed the water and the canopy. I don't get to go up and visit enough because of the demands of work and family but I thought this would be a good way to share this really cool place in a sustainable way with a lot of people that are drawn to these same things.
