Ang tuluyan
⭐️𝗡𝗼 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗽!
⭐️Working on UPGRADES (between guests).
⭐️This is an open floor plan in an OLD home which is why it’s priced at a LOW nightly rate. ⭐️The bedroom is larger with a king👑 sized bed 🛏(linens are included). There is also a walk-in closet and Roku tv 📺 .
⭐️The bathroom 🚽 has a long vanity and sink (old), tub (old) 🛀 , shower 🚿(old), and linen closet. (towels and paper products 🧻 are included)
⭐️The kitchen (Cookware and serve-ware (new and included) has a stove, oven, dishwasher and full sized fridge (stocked with fresh eggs 🥚(collect your own) from the hen chicken 🐓 house, bottled water, and carrots🥕 (for the horses 🐴 ). It’s a nice size kitchen 👩‍🍳 with a large table with seating 🪑 up to 6.
⭐️The Living room 🛋 is open to the kitchen and has a Roku tv 📺 , a sectional, which seats 🪑 6 comfortably, and it also has a pullout queen bed 🛌 . The “L” section of the sofa 🛋 can sleep 😴 an additional smaller person or child.
⭐️There is also a loveseat that opens into a twin sized bed. 2 twin air mattresses can be added so the house can sleep 7 or 8 guests easily.
⭐️I can also add a double air mattress for more guests. Probably a tight squeeze, but doable (after 4 guests there is a $10 fee per person per night added). ⭐️There is a laundry room with a full size washer and dryer (older and loud).
⭐️You will have your own entrance 🚪 on the side, and there is a little porch (fixing).

⭐️This is a great rental for families👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 to enjoy the country🌴, the farm, the animals and with close proximity to the beaches (Folly🏝, Edisto🏝, Kiawah🏝) and to downtown Charleston 🏛.

⭐️Please note: This is an older home. It is on a farm. It is not elegant💍 or luxurious 🛁 . It is basic and affordable. No frills 🎀.

⭐️Also note:
I’m working on upgrades (between guests) hence, the super LOW nightly rate.

⭐️Also note:
There is an interior wall with a locked 🔒 door 🚪 separating 2 Airbnb units...there might be some noise 🎼 ...the walls are thin in this old home- which is why I have this unit priced so low.

⭐️Also note:
Palmetto bugs🪳 are harmless. They look like big beetles 🪲 or giant roaches 🪳 . I usually catch them and put them outside.
It is a low country farm, there are ants 🐜 , red ants 🐜 , spiders 🕷 , flies, gnats, mosquitoes 🦟 , roaches 🪳 , palmetto bugs, crickets, frogs 🐸 , snakes 🐍 and gators 🐊 . Hopefully none of those you will encounter. There are bait traps and transonic devices to discourage all creepy crawlers in each of the Airbnb’s. Guaranteed Pest Control comes and sprays monthly.

⭐️There are different listings on the horse 🐴 farm. The farm is close to Charleston 🛍 and the Atlantic Ocean 🌊 beaches 🏝. These are farm stays (rural) in the country (bugs), we have 32 sweet horses🐴(our pets) for you to enjoy. These rentals are our farm’s outbuildings (converted to Airbnb’s). Please do not expect the “luxuries” of a
“4 star” ⭐️or “5 diamond” 💎hotel 🏨. There is not a concierge 🛎on duty. No daily maid 🧺service. No room service 🍱 and no frills 🎀. These are Airbnb’s in the low-country of South Carolina.
Rustic, charming, warm, comfortable, and old are apt descriptions of these units. With a cabin or cottage feel. These Airbnb’s are akin to staying on your great- grannies👵🏻 farm; old, outdated, cranky and creaky.

❤️AirbNb’s are plentiful in the Charleston area, but where do you go when you’re looking for something unique? Is there a place you retreat to when you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the city life, but within a short drive from home? Is there a place that is so relaxing, you turn off your cell phone, disconnect with the world, and re-connect with the great outdoors?

⭐️I had the pleasure of spending a weekend at East Gate Farm on the weekend of Halloween. This 100-acre farm is located in Meggett, South Carolina; just 30 minutes outside of Charleston, and offers different sized Airbnb units for rent.
⭐️Picture this: It’s sunrise, and you’ve just woken up. You pour your coffee, open your back door and look to the pastures that surround your home. You see horses grazing in the distance, so you grab the carrots your host has provided free of charge, and walk to the fence line, where 3 horses are galloping to come greet you. All they ask for in return is a snack of the ultimate delicacy, a carrot.

⭐️East Gate isn’t just any farm. I received free interaction with 32 horses (some of which are retired Carriage tour guides and Polo horses). I was able to become friends with a group of goats, who probably only liked me for the cookies that I received to feed to them; but I’ll accept that. I was also able to retrieve fresh eggs for breakfast from the chicken coop, which taste superior to what you buy at the grocery store. My cool evenings were spent with a bonfire set up just for me; complete with supplies for smores, and a hammock hanging from the encompassing trees for the ultimate wind-down of my days.

⭐️East Gate is truly a hidden gem and is an incredible get-away or a stay-cation, whether you plan on bringing your family, friends, or going solo. To learn more, or book your stay, visit East Gate Farm on Instagram @EastGateFarmStay

⭐️𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Hard to believe but our week-long stay is now over. We arrived in the rain and departed in the rain – but, in between had several glorious sunny days and gorgeous sunsets. Our 5-year old cocker spaniel, Rudi, and the two of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this farm.
The bed in the master bedroom was super comfortable as was the L- shaped couch. The kitchen had most of what we needed (we brought a salad spinner and peeler with us and bought foil muffin holders). We baked muffins in the oven, grilled lamb chops and burgers on the gas grill, heated up leftovers in the microwave, etc. With the fresh chicken eggs, made deviled eggs and omelets. A real plus was the washer and dryer.
A real benefit for the location is that it is in the middle of lots of good places to eat and things to see and do.
⭐️ Piggly Wiggly on 6251 Highway 162 in Hollywood sells prepared hot and cold foods, including fried chicken, baked chicken, collards (theirs is sweet), etc. as well as regional specialities like biscuits, cornbread and breading mixes, as well as local items such as jams, Blenheim ginger ale and beer.
⭐️ Publix at 3642 Savannah Highway in Johns Island has fewer of the local items, but, a nice selection of produce—we got a large tray of asparagus for $4.29 as well as gluten-free seasoned flour to bake chicken breasts.
We ventured out all but one day and feel that we just scratched the surface of what to do and see around here.
⭐️Our first day out, we visited the nearby Cay Creek Interpretive center (no dogs allowed)
⭐️and got carryout at Roxbury Mercantile (can recommend the grits and banana pudding; hubbie said the fried seafood was just OK).
⭐️ On Wednesdays and Saturdays in the winter, Cay Creek offers bird walks for a small fee from 8:30-10:30 am. You have to reserve in advance online.
⭐️Another day, we ventured out to visit the town beach in Edisto (off-leash dogs allowed in winter), the park (leashed dogs only), and visited Botany Bay (no dogs allowed)
⭐️and George and Pink’s produce stand (pecan pie, dried black-eyed peas and field peas).
⭐️A subsequent day, we went to see the 400+ year old Angel Oak (no dogs allowed)
⭐️and visited Kiawah beachwalker park (off-leash dogs allowed in winter). White sand and wide beach, with picnic tables in the parking lot, and bathrooms and a place to rinse off your dog! Kiawah beachwalker park was definitely our favorite—we returned another day after
⭐️a self-guided foodie tour that we designed using the Roadtrippers app, Roadfood website, and reviews in the Charleston city paper.
⭐️For the self-guided foodie tour,
⭐️we visited White Point Gardens in Charleston,
⭐️Hannibal’s Kitchen (recommend their baked turkey wing and okra stew),
⭐️Rodney Scott’s BBQ (recommend their smoked chicken and cornbread), ⭐️Bertha’s Kitchen (least favorite of the 3 soul food places, but, is also the least expensive - $5 for a lunch plate),
⭐️and Park Circle Creamery (M&M ice cream, since was the winter had fewer flavors than usual).
⭐️Yesterday, we visited the Charleston city market,
⭐️ got carryout at the Glass Onion,
⭐️and I had a pony ride at the farm on Lollipop with Carlos’ help.
⭐️Due to the pandemic, there are few vendors at the Charleston city market – baskets run $100 and up so expensive.
⭐️ Did pick up some gluten-free biscuit mix and frozen biscuits from Callies Charleston Biscuits.
⭐️Can recommend the trout, mashed potatoes, collard greens, shrimp po-boy, coleslaw, flour-less chocolate cake and peppermint ice cream at the Glass Onion. Wonderful food and can accommodate dietary restrictions (gluten-free, vegetarian). Best food we had during our stay here.
⭐️In the mornings, we would take long walks on the farm with our dog, and in the evenings return to watch beautiful sunsets and enjoy the peace and quiet. Our trailer had a great view of the horses in the paddock, as well as two red headed woodpeckers (so nice to look at while washing dishes!). The farm is also visited by many other birds including blue birds, hawks, merganser ducks etc. Carrots are in the fridge to share with the horses and goats. But, my personal favorite was visiting the donkeys in the front paddocks. They love getting scratched at the top of their heads. If you venture inside to greet or feed the goats, do wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty since they like to climb up on you. With our busy days, we struggled to stay up late enough to experience the 9:30 pm horse/goal bedtime with cookies. We managed it once and it is great fun. The horses and goats get so excited about getting a cookie. Also take advantage of the offer to build a bonfire –

The Farm: This is a private and gated estate property and Thoroughbred farm. *Seattle Slew (Triple Crown) and *Forli’s (Triple Crown) Granddaughter (retired), amongst other former Champions reside here. All the farm animals are available to meet and pet, for our guests, who rent one of the homes, which are only available through Airbnb. The farm is our private 100 acre family property. This farm is a replica of a known NY Thoroughbred racing farm in Saratoga, New York. The land is a manicured and maintained, and our family home since we moved the farm to South Carolina from Pawling, New York in 2014. The farm is close to Charleston (downtown) and the beaches (Atlantic Ocean) of South Carolina. These are farm stays (rural) in the country (bugs), we have 30 sweet horses (our pets) for you to enjoy in the, welcoming and neighborly, low-country of South Carolina- where Southern hospitality is still a thing.
