These lodgings are really a country retreat nestled in peaceful surroundings in the middle of a quiet and established neighbourhood. AZUR and ALIZÉS that are about 990ft above sea level afford exquisite mountain views. Accommodates 2 to 7 persons.

Your Peaceful Bovis Country Retreat consists of two twin gîtes or bungalows. One is called AZUR (meaning clear blue sky), the other one is named ALIZÉS (i.e. trade winds or rather breezy winds here).

Our AZUR bungalow is ideal for meeting the needs of 2 to 3 persons as it is equipped with a single bed in addition to a comfortable double bed. It also has a cradle if you are travelling with your baby.

Our ALIZÉS bungalow is designed for accommodating 2 to 4 holiday-makers with its white double bed plus bunk beds.

Both almost twin bungalows are air conditioned, tidily and tastefully decorated and well-equipped.

AZUR and ALIZÉS are semi-detached bungalows located in the BOVIS property (Bovis is a district name). The gîtes are independent but, if booked together, would also perfectly suit two couples or families wishing to spend their holidays together all by preserving some or complete intimacy.

Each bungalow offers not-overlooked living space in a peaceful and much looked-for environment. It consists of two air conditioned rooms. All beds inside each bungalow are equipped with mosquito protections. Guests are provided with fresh clean towels and bed linens.

AZUR and ALIZÉS, that are about 990ft above sea level, afford exquisite mountain views and especially of the nicknamed GREAT LADY, Guadeloupe’s vulcano: LA SOUFRIÈRE.

In fact, you will be staying at the top of a unique majestic mango tree field.

You are but a few minutes’ drive from the vulcano trail and within a stone’s throw of trekking or jogging paths into our rainforest and beautiful tropical valleys that we will inform you of on request or that you will already know of.

AZUR and ALIZÉS are an ideal springboard to the breathtaking views of Guadeloupe’s leeward sid.

Enseignant tous deux dans le sud Basse-Terre, nous avons posé nos cartables et ordinateurs à Bovis . Appréciant le calme et la sérénité des lieux, nous aimons partager avec les vacanciers notre passion pour la nature tropicale et la culture guadeloupéenne. .

Feel free to ask us about sights to see as we are eager to help you explore Guadeloupe. We can also take your around the yard and tell you about trees, flowers and plants.
We are confident you will love the quiet environment and going to sleep to the songs of tree frogs and shy insects. You may also relish waking up to the dance of buzzing humming birds, the melodies of turtle doves, the tapping of Guadeloupe’s woodpecker.
You may be told good morning by goats behind the fence…
You will be happy to eat breakfast gazing at La Soufrière, our dear vulcano, if she’s in the mood to grant you this favour.
A “table d’hôte” (at the host’s dinner) can be taken on Tuesday evenings (upon request) together with a basic introduction to Guadelupian language (if you wish). On this occasion, you will appreciate learning more about Guadelupian culture and history. You will also be offered the opportunity to taste and buy fruit jams from our organic garden (mangos, papayas, guavas, passion fruits…).
