Nous avons quitté la banlieue pour aménager au centre ville en 2012 et profiter des Plaines d'Abraham, le festival d'été et la Carnaval, puis l'accès à pas mal de choses à pied, en vélo ou en autobus. On ne regrette pas notre décision! Notre maison est à mi chemin entre le vieux Québec et l'université (25 min à pied, 5 min en autobus), dans une rue tranquille avec des arbres matures. Le logement a été refait en 2013- chambres et divisions, salle de bain, plomberie et éléctricité refaits. A part le salon et la cuisine, les trois chambres sont de 20' x 10' (18m2), fournies avec lit double, draps, bureau, télé, câble, internet haute vitesse, laveuse-secheuse, cuisine équipée.

Le tarif c'est 500 par mois. Minimum séjour un mois. Si vous êtes mal pris coté transport je pourrais aller vous chercher à l'aéroport pour 15$ (en taxi le tarif fixe est de $34.50 aller simple).

Veuillez noter que nous avons trois chambres, donc si certaines dates semblent être prises sur le calendrier ça se peut qu'il s'agit seulement d'une des trois chambres; contactez nous et on sera en mesure de vous préciser ça.

We moved to downtown Quebec City last year to take advantage of being close to the Plains of Abraham, the summer festival and winter carnival, plus being able to do most everything on a bike, walking or with a short bus ride. We have not regretted our decision! Our house is halfway between Old Quebec and Université Laval (25 min. walk to either), on a quiet residential street with huge maple trees. The entire downstairs was renovated in 2013- new rooms, new bathroom, new flooring, new heating and electrical. There are three rooms, a shared bathroom, living room and kitchen. Rooms are 20' x 10' (18 m2), fully furnished (double bed, sheets, comforter, small sofa, desk, TV and cable access, wi-fi, independent heating, towels, washer and dryer).

Cost is 500 per month, min. stay one month. If you are stuck for transportation I can usually free up time to go to the airport for 15$ (the fixed rate for a taxi is 34.50$ one way)

One note about the calendar: we have three rooms so if you see certain dates marked as not available it is possible that only one of the rooms is booked while others probably are free. Just send us a message and we can let you know what the situation is.

I taught high school 20 years ago in BC and since that time Nelson (both the town and the house I bought) has been a long term project and dream for me, and later my wife Danielle. I've been a climbing instructor, volunteer project coordinator in Africa and Latin America, motorcycle mechanic, text corrector, property manager, flight attendant and goalie coach and it seemed like half the people in Nelson were way more eclectic and interesting than me! Such a cool and welcoming vibe; I knew I wanted to keep roots there. My wife (who is an airline pilot) and I, plus our two teenage kids, live in Quebec City in a great downtown triplex that we've renovated with space for guests. It has allowed me to park the car and walk or ride my bicycle all year round, with the summer festival, the winter carnival and the old town just minutes away. We feel very fortunate for the opportunity to live in such beautiful places and hope you can share in some measure by staying at our red brick house on Silica or with us in downtown Québec City.

J’ai enseigné au niveau secondaire en Colombie Britannique voilà 20 ans puis depuis cette époque Nelson (a la fois le village et la maison) est demeuré un rêve pour moi, et plus tard mon épouse aussi. J’ai déjà été moniteur d’escalade, coordinateur d’un projet bénévole en Afrique et en Amérique Latine, mécanicien de moto, correcteur de texte, gestionnaire immobilier, agent de bord et instructeur des gardiens de but au hockey, puis il me semblait que la moitié des gens à Nelson étaient bien plus éclectique et intéressant que moi ! On dirait que ce lieu s’anime d’une « vibe » bien cool ; je savais tout de suite que je voulais m’enraciner là bas. Mon épouse (qui est pilote de ligne) et moi, avec nos deux enfants, demeurent à Québec dans un beau grand triplex qu’on a rénové pour des invités. Déménager au centre ville m’a permis de garer la voiture et rouler en vélo toute l’année, tout proche du festival d’été, le carnaval et le vieux Québec. Nous nous considérons très fortunés de vivre tout ça et voudrions partager en quelque sorte notre bonheur avec vous. On vous invite à faire un tour à la Maison Rouge à Nelson ou au centre ville de Québec.
