Hey whats up guys, my name is Juan Carlos. I had a dream to get a place and fix it up on my own. I am currently working on it and what you see is one of the finished rooms. Its a work in progress. If you are interested in more info about the designs I have done to the house please read below.

Ang tuluyan
I like to make beautiful spaces. There is not one specific way for something to be beautiful. When I first got this place, I felt like it was already a beauty, but it was covered up pretending to be something it was not. For many years, people who were here did not respect what it was. So I began to do what I felt the house asked for, which was not to try to be something it is not, but to accept what it is. And what it is is a 500-year-old house that is proud and comfortable with itself. "I am old and I don’t want to change or try to be something I am not. Don’t make me new. Make me real,” the house said to me. So a relationship began. “What do you want?” I would ask, and it told. Sometimes we would fight. Sometimes we laughed. Sometimes it seemed like we would never get along. But we never quit, and we bonded and became friends.

This is the only room that looks out onto the narrow cobblestone paths of Santa Cruz. Open just the windows for a little sunlight, or the full french doors for Sevilla’s famous orange-blossom-scented breezes, then lie in bed and look out onto the balcony and the historical street below. The beds hang from 500-year-old stone walls, each on a platform big enough for keeping a book or a glass of water by your side. You reach the top bunk from a ladder I made from spare scraps of wood I had laying about. The floor is finished with an outline of tiles salvaged from around the house as I remade it, some 100 years old. There is room under the bed for storing luggage and a desk for your convenience.

Saan ka pupunta

Sevilla, Andalucía, Spain

If you’re coming to Sevilla to see the city, there is no better place to stay than Santa Cruz. The first time I came to Sevilla, I didn’t know anything about it and I was alone. I found this neighborhood just walking around, and I was amazed. I felt like I wanted the people I knew to see it with me. The streets are so small you spread your arms and touch both sides. You can find small passages where you have to duck down to pass. You can peak into a patio and feel like you’re looking into the past, like you are a time traveler. So many of us have this dream to go explore a place and get lost in a maze of beautiful history, cobblestone streets, old walls with hanging vines. This is it — this is Santa Cruz. If Sevilla were alive — and it is — this is its heart.

From the house, you are a short walk to the major sights and experiences of Sevilla, as well as a mix of tapas bars and restaurants:

Catedral de Sevilla: 4 min walk
Jardines de Murillo: 4 min
Royal Alcazar: 5 min
Museo del Baile Flamenco: 6 min
Alfalfa: 7 min
Iglesia del Salvador: 9 min
Parque Maria Luisa: 10 min
Plaza de Toros: 13 min
Guadalquivir River & Puente de Isabel II: 13 min
Plaza Encarnación: 14 min
La Torre de Oro: 14 min
Plaza de Espana: 15 min
Triana: 17 min
