Crabbing under the Golden Gate Bridge
We will meet at a pier in the Marina/Presidio district of San Francisco where we will be located near the Golden Gate Bridge. The views of the water will be spectacular and because of the size of the pier we will have more than enough room to spread out and try our techniques. Make sure to arrive early so you can find parking and pay for it if need be near The Warming Hut cafe. Once all the guests have arrived we will learn to set up the equipment we will supply with a very detailed explanation of how and why we use particular gear. Once we have set up our rods, filled our bait in our traps we will learn the different forms of casting and the technique of reeling. Because we are fishing for crab there is a different approach to how you catch crab off of a rod and reel. We will not be allowed to take home any Dungeness crab, unfortunately, because the Bay is a protected estuary. As a result we will be catching rock & red crab which are edible and delicious crabs to take home. This experience is an all weather endeavor so rain or shine we will make it happen. Please join me as many others have to see if spending an afternoon out on the waterfront of the bay, meeting new people and learning a skill is right for you! Great for big groups, corporate outings and team building exercises! Please inquire directly if you have 10+ people www.theartofcrabbing.com

Forage Edible Plants & Mushrooms
Find out what you can eat in the woods! We'll hike in the lovely Santa Cruz mountains where I'll guide you on a beautiful, quiet 1-2 mile walk in the unique coastal oak & redwood forest. Together we'll learn the ancient ways of identifying edible and medicinal mushrooms, plants, roots, flowers, nuts and seeds (depending on the season. Mushrooms come out after the rains and fruit through winter, sometimes into spring). Along the way we'll discuss proper harvesting and preparation techniques while connecting to the beauty and abundance of our ecosystem. This experience is a fun, hands-on way to connect to what can feed, heal and harm us in the wild. You'll walk away with a whole new appreciation and understanding of nature! The hike is doable for all skill levels. See you on the trail! Other things to note: Secure your own transportation to The Buttery and we'll caravan to the hike start. Bring: layers (it can get chilly in the redwoods), water bottle and comfortable hiking shoes. Optional: hiking poles, camera, hat, sunglasses. I sailed San Francisco Bay!
Please reach out for custom dates! Welcome aboard a large sailboat, a Downeaster 38. Designed by renowned naval architect, Henry Morschlad, this Downeaster is in exceptionally good condition. Downeaster's are known as being stout and seaworthy bluewater cruisers. They can be found all over the globe. This experience is available for up to six guests and great for groups and team building. Your three-hour adventure starts at Jack London Square. The route will depend on wind conditions; however, our goal is to cross the bay to see the marvelous sites of South Beach Harbor (home of the SF Giants), the financial district, the bay bridge, and then Treasure Island. During the tour, you'll see amazing wildlife; including, flocks of pelicans, sea lions, and the occasional dolphin! This is an active experience! I will review the basics of sailing (wind angle, general terms for operating the vessel, and rules of the road). You will take a turn at the helm (wheel), manage the sheets that control the sails, and raise and lower the sails. Naturally, you are also welcome to just sit back and enjoy the amazing views.
Golden Gate Sailing and Nature -With Option for Private Tour
Book this experience to meet other sailors or as a private group. We sail from Sausalito out into the bay and back, taking in the bay nature and incredible views of the city and Golden Gate Bridge. We will have some great photo opportunities, too, with the Golden Gate in the background unobstructed and from a vantage point you can only achieve on the water. This is a family friendly outing for all ages. The captain is a mom of 3, all born and raised aboard, so she has plenty of experience keeping everyone safe and comfortable while sailing. We will take into consideration the conditions of the day, tide, wind and sea state before deciding on an exact route, and will make sure you have a great introduction to using wind and water to voyage. Life jackets and blankets are provided. This outing is designed for people with no experience so come see what sailing and life on the water is all about! Life jackets must be worn at all times by children 12 and under and their caregiver and will be provided. You may have up to 6 guests when you book for a private family/group at the group rate. The coast guard limits the number of passengers on board to 6 so I can not accommodate larger groups but 6 is a comfortable maximum for having room to spread out on deck. You may bring your own snacks and drinks.

Crushing goals with Matthew Mitcham in person
As an Olympic champion, I’ve shared my winning strategies with audiences all over the world. This workshop has been hugely popular as an airbnb online experience, and now I want to bring it to you in-person at AirBnB headquarters in San Francisco! First, I'll tell you about my background and my sporting journey to give you a bit of context. Hopefully this will reassure you that if I (an overwhelmingly mediocre child crippled with low self-esteem and ADHD) can goal-set successfully, then you can, too. Then, we’ll talk through the strategy I use to set and achieve goals: SMART Goals. Afterward, I’ll help you with your own goal-setting and leave you with the insight and tools to achieve whatever you set your mind to. I’ll give you the tricks I use to stay hyper-focused and motivated, for short- and long-term goals. Within this framework, we develop various levels of failsafes to keep even the flakiest of us on track. I’ll leave a bit of time at the end to answer questions about diving, the Olympics, or me.

Alpaca Experience and Trek
This experience, for those 12 years old and up, includes learning all about alpacas as well as a trek around the farm while leading your own alpaca "buddy"! We begin in the Tuscan inspired barn, housing our horses and friendly donkey, "Jack". Starting with "Alpacas 101"-a 45 minute interactive talk regarding: origin, use, fleece, biology, breeding & behavior, you will become "Alpaca Experts"! Next we assign each person an alpaca and begin our trek. The trail starts across a bridge, up a wooded ravine and then along a fence adjacent to a 2,000 acre ranch where you will see beautiful vistas of the surrounding hills and mountains of Carmel Valley. We stop under a large oak trea for refreshments and interact with the alpacas. Continuing on the trail we go back to the pastures, passing horses, alpacas, goats and more stunning views of the Valley. There will be ample opportunities to engage with your furry friends and take photos of the landscape as well as the alpacas. Other things to note: the Alpaca Trek is not suitable for children under 12. Must be able to physically walk/hike up a moderately sloped trail while leading 150+ pound alpaca. Wear proper shoes for hiking. Running shoes/sneakers are ok. We will still go on the trek if there is light rain-so if this is the forecast bring rain hats/ponchos. Be sure to bring your camera or smartphone to take lots of photos!
Private Surfing Lessons With A Pro!
Come jump in the beautiful ocean with your own professional surfing instructor! I am a trained professional that has unique insight on the best surfing locations guaranteed to provide optimal waves for surfing. During your lesson I will demonstrate and explain the techniques you'll need to learn to become a master surfer. You will then practice those techniques under my guidance on the beach until you feel comfortable with the fundamentals . Once you and I are both confident that you know how to do each technique on land we will venture out into the water to put your skill to the test under my supervision and assistance. After the lesson we will review your progress and talk about the next steps in your surfing journey. This experience is designed to shorten your learning curve, I will try to provide you with all the tips and tricks I have discovered during my 20 years in the waves so you can continue surfing on your own. Every lesson I teach is focused on safety, comfortability in the water, and or course ENJOYMENT! Other things to note People taking a surf lesson with me should feel confident renting equipment from a surf shop after completing their lesson. Occasionally I might be unavailable due to life events, in which case I will provide a substitute instructor (Hawaii raised surfing buddy with over 10 years teaching experience).
Scenic eBike Tour along Seventeen Mile Drive in Pebble Beach
On our electric fat-bikes, we wind our way along the rugged coastline and through thick cypress groves, stopping at all the amazing viewpoints. We'll share about our area's unique ocean wildlife and iconic landmarks...the Lone Cypress, Point Pinos Lighthouse, Lover's Point, Asilomar Beach, 17-Mile Drive. We cruise at a comfortable 15-20 mph. In the open air you'll smell the ocean & hear the waves. And as we explore this most scenic stretch of ocean from Cannery Row to Ghost Tree, look for deer, seals, otters, sea lions, and whales! Our tours are great for anyone comfortable riding a bike. Though you have to be over 14 years and 4'10" to ride solo, we can accommodate younger children as passengers with a parent on our e-Tandem bikes for $59 each. Or for younger children we have cargo e-bikes with back seats they can ride on for $29 each. If you are traveling with children, please call to discuss the exact nature of our ride to make sure everyone is comfortable and safe. If joining a tour with others, single riders will be regular price. If no one else joins your requested time, you can pay $30 extra for a solo tour or choose a different time or cancel. Other things to note Pack a layer. It can be chilly on sections of the ride! You may want to pack a snack. Look for free street parking on Sunset Drive or nearby Crocker Ave.
Sunset sail on beautiful Monterey Bay
Come see the sunsets for which the central coast of California is renowned. We'll leave the dock after a quick briefing, hoist our sails and head out to watch the sun disappear behind the horizon, the Monterey Peninsula, or sometimes a fog bank. Then, we'll head in and see some wildlife on the way. Sea lions, otters, and sea birds abound in the Monterey Harbor. Guests will arrive at the dock around dark.
A day of ocean-to-table with Big Sur Salts
We'll meet you in downtown Monterey, CA. where we can park our cars for several hours. There are a few parking lots that have full day rates and per hour rates. This tour takes approximately 5 hours. From there, we'll hop on an experience-only shuttle bus* and drive to one or more of our (Big Sur Salts - http://bigsursalts.com) sea salt farms in Big Sur! At these locations, we will show you where your food comes from and how the natural environment creates sea salt along the coast of Big Sur. We then head over to one of our greenhouse facilities to show you how we recreate what was seen and learned about sea salt crystal formation along the coast. Then we'll travel back to Monterey and spend an hour or so at a local restaurant where we eat a few menu items that include our salt! Finally, you get to create a salt blend with ingredients we provide, so you can take home a piece of Big Sur! Great for groups, teambuilding, and as a corporate event, as well. *shuttle service requires a minimum of 4 guests. If there are less than 4 guests, we can take personal vehicles to all locations.
